I hardly think I'm the only one to notice race is barely mentioned in reports anymore. Whichever race it is. I watched several reports - admittedly mostly BBC on the TV - and on reports I saw there was no mention of race. Perhaps I just didn't notice.

It takes time to interview witnesses and study cctv. Witnesses will give different descriptions of the same person. The police need to decide which are accurate. The police will only issue a descriptions publically once they've decided a suspect has got away. We shouldn't expect to see a descriptions of suspected criminals within an hour or two of a crime being committed. It's unrealistic to expect something so important to be done so fast. I haven't studied the extent to which race is or isn't mentioned in reports. But there's an important difference between a crime committed by a suspect who has already been apprehended and a murder where the suspect is still at large.

Didn't Khan recently criticise the use of crime statistics as having a racism component?
