There can be no retrospective action because the referee saw the incident and decided that a yellow would suffice. If he hadn't seen the incident then it's a different scenario.

I know that! What I was saying is the rules should be changed so IF the ref did not see the incident fully further action could be taken but thanks for the lesson

Asking the FA to bring in rules which potentially call out s*** referees for making s*** decisions would be like asking turkeys to vote for Christmas. The whole thing is a stitch-up from top to bottom.

Or maybe in cases where the ref has been as much use as a chocolate tea pot. Oh wait a minute that will be just about every game then.

Our defending for the two goals was dreadful today and I thought the midfield was poor throughout the second half.
Watford should have been down to ten men but with two defenders out today and no strikers who can actually score, it shows how flimsy our squad is and why we needed to spend more money in the Summer, especially on a striker.

When have I heard that before?

If you look at the players considered as 'Strikers' :

Benteke - Only 1 goal since the end of January and that was a penalty.
Sorloth - No goals for us, admittedly he hasn't played much but when he has played has not looked a threat.
Wickham - Last goal for us was November 2016.

Doesn't make good reading.
At least Ayew did score 11 goals in a struggling Swansea side last season but he has been benched.

Do you really think that what's crossing your mind hasn't crossed his?

his record for bringing on subs is poor its not the first time and sure it wont be the last,im stating what i see, and some others think so to,that doesnt make us wrong for asking the question,Roy likes his first 11 and he leaves it to late to change things, only chelsea game did he make half time changes and we was better in that game second half/

anyway why am i replying to so some random bloke on a fans message board whos knee jerk reaction is to belittle someones opinion because they dont agree

If someone can explain logically why Benteke is still on the team sheet then I'm all ears.
Earn your crust Roy Hodgson, and drop him now.

I totally agree. Interestingly we are the only league in Europe (I believe) that voted against VAR.Wonder what Steve thinks now! Maybe Sky didn't want it either

I'm sure that Sky would like VAR as it adds to the drama. It certainly works well in cricket in terms of dramatic effect

We should have put this game to bed in the first half, but we didn’t and were undone by a fluke goal. How the ref didn’t see that as a straight red on Wilf I don’t know, but that looked like the easiest decision of the day.

Hope to see some changes for the Southampton game and it is time for Tekkers to be benched...
