Is there actually any truth to this? I'm often skeptical when players that are suggested as possible transfers on fan forums coincidentally then start cropping up in papers on a quiet day for journalists.

I know a few and certainly no quiet days during the window and particularly towards the end of it.Expect a flurry of last-minute activity tomorrow. The scribes are working flat out ! Warnock knows him and I can see him going to Cardiff, especially given the very sad situation with Sala. With regard to loyalty, etc., I seem to remember Everton fans getting annoyed that Bolasie kept showing so much love for Palace. The real issue is really about whether he can still deliver a performance and that we would only find out if we signed him. I lean towards yes if we don't have a better option lined up, but I do question if Roy would want him as he doesn't really fit into the organised category and we already have Zaha in the maverick role.

Truth is no one really knows what went on so why cut off your nose to spite your face? He's after a loan move to a PL club whether that be us, Newcastle or another. If the management feels he could do a short term job then I trust them to make the right decision. And do you really care what other clubs think about him? Ask Cardiff fans what they thought of Wilf when he was on loan there from Man U. Sometimes players just fit at a club and I have a feeling Bolasie fits at ours. Personally don't think there's a lot of truth in it and its his agent drumming up business.
As for 'if the management rate him' though -- i reckon Hodgson hasn't truly bought us a player since he became our manager.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

I think he only had a dozen games for Everton, but I did watch a couple and he sent in some nice crosses for Lukaku. I remember thinking "where were those crosses at Palace" I bet his Assist rate was better for Everton than with us in the Prem, aiming for which CF: Chamakh? Jerome? Gayle? Fraser Campbell? Adebayor? I'd be fine with getting him in for 6 months and seeing what he could do as a sub and with Wickham or Tekkers to aim for. I doubt Roy would trust him defensively, but I could see him coming on to chase a game with his chaos with 20 min to go.

Seems like a no brainer to me. Everton seem desperate to get rid of him, so we can drive a hard bargain. Get them to go halves on his wages for the rest of the season on loan, and/or agree a low fixed price for him in the summer if we think he's still the player he was. Worst case scenario is that he's not good enough any more, in which case we send him back with nothing much lost apart from our contribution to the wages. Best case scenario is that we get an established top flight match winner for us who is hungry to prove his point. I'd put him miles above Sako, and at least on a par with townsend if you assess performance for us over the longer term. It certainly wouldn't hurt to have some competition for places out wide, and the option to play one of the wingers as a no10 as well.
