I'm fed of hearing he gets no service. He has to do more without the ball. He's so static. Rarely comes short for the ball, never runs beyond the defence. I know he's good in the air, but needs to do more..

There is hardly anyone from our team near him, the ball gets fired at him, he has generally 2 CBs around him.
You miss the issue, the team set up is wrong, we play so deep the gap between him and the midfield is never going to trouble teams.

Really? The only way he'd be more isolated is if he had the Zita virus.

Whatever thoughts may be in regard to FdB's reign and whether he was misquoted or not - most of this lot are simply not good enough.

What's it gonna take for the management to realize the squad they've assembled lacks quality of any sort. I can think off 6 or 7 players off the top of my head who will never be up to standard. They just take up space (and wages) in the squad. Just gotta get ruthless at the next window at cut them simple as that!

Man. City just beat Watford 6-0 away in a canter. can you imagine what they'll do to us at home next Saturday...

It was without doubt a disappointing performance but we defended far better than in previous home matches apart from Schlupp who's positional play in the first half was awful.

We also had four decent chances, two of which were gilt edged but not taken by players over anxious and short of confidence.

Finishing and goalkeeping were ultimately the difference between the two teams although I don't blame Hennessey particularly for the goal.

You know I'm not sure. It's one thing being behind the ball and another actually closing down or being close to them. You're right on Schlupp though. But he hasn't played much and who was actually left midfield in the 1st half because I didn't see anyone in front of him.

Take your point and I suppose you could argue that Southampton didn't need to create much after taking an early lead but we looked clueless in the other games.

Agree about Puncheon but think we had the best chances.

Longish disjointed rant:-

Watford just got beaten 6-0 and yet they looked far better than we did, really not looking forward to the next 3 games.

Punch has to be dropped, Tekkers doesn't deserve to play and Ward can F the hell off.

We have no cohesion and I'm tired of watching millionaires sulk rather than get on with it, every time a decision goes against them or they lose the ball arms are thrown up in the air and a mini tantrum goes on, meanwhile the opposition just get on with it.

Surely our development & youth squads have players that deserve a chance and are less shell-shocked.

In 45 yrs of following Palace through thick and thin I have never seen a more disjointed squad, completely lacking in maturity and determination.

Left Anfield after the 9-0 knowing that the whole team put a shift in but where overwhelmed by an on fire top team. Watching us play for the last few months has been painful, not just for the poor performance under a number of different managers, but for the lack of self belief that the players seem to have now.

Can Roy or any other manager fix this without drastic personnel changes? I don't think so, even beginning to think that maybe Pardew wasn't the problem that needed fixing last season...

Rant over, grumble, mutter, grumble.

Puncheon never gave him much protection which is hardly surprising.Nevertheless it was a very disappointing performance from both our full backs.

Not even out of September and I just want this season to be over, with no more embarrassment. I've accepted relegation already because, regardless of what we all said at the start of the season, we ARE the worst team in the Prem, by a sizeable margin (despite in theory not having the weakest squad).

I'm normally optimistic and hate the pant-wetters but we really do look like a relegated side.

When Pulis came in - even before - we played with so much heart. The crowd were up for it because, although we didn't have the best squad, we had players like Delaney putting their bodies in the way of everything.

Yesterday there was no fight. We have some technically gifted players - the 2 loan signings are terrific - but we have no 'in this together' mentality.

I still hope Roy can inject some urgency but the AWFUL summer transfer window has left us with no attacking options.
Sakho and Wilf will improve us but we wasted money on Jairo when even Betty the Tea Lady knew we needed strikers. How good was Shane Long for Southampton yesterday? - we needed that type of striker who makes a nuisance of himself.

You fed me, you bred me, I'll remember your name.
