Also, there were only meant to be twelve regenerations....Still, I'm not bitter.....Normally there were two t1ts in the Tardis...it's just now there are four.

Or possibly 14 if they have an alien companion?

Time lord is a title, Romala was also a Time Lord. Obviously they're less gender specific than us non-progressive space monkeys.

The push for equality is anti fairness.

I just see this as another attack on masculinity by the entertainment industry.....Of course you support it....it's 'progressive/regressive' and a utter load of wishy washy nonsense.

The day that an equal number of girls want to do all the dangersous and hard jobs that men are attracted to is the day I start considering 'equality'.

Sure these activists want all the good stuff related to men....But men also disproportionately do a lot of downsides in society.....Feminism is most definitely not about fairness.

All I see are activists and unelected 'progressives' in positions of power pushing ideas that are complete and utter unreality and not a balanced reflection of society.

Equality does not exist in nature and I'm sick of this regressive ideological nonsense.

You sound like you are still reeling from women getting the vote.

Because its so unfair that a woman would play the leading role, after 13 men, as the lead in a series that 50 years old, and features a transforming alien.

Its not an attack on masculinity, masculinity is fine - all that's happening is the disparity in gender power is shifting, and all of a sudden people feel attacked, when all that's happening is a shift in the bias against women in entertainment and their role in society.

How masculine can people be if they're squealing and ranting because a woman is playing Dr Who.

If a woman wants to do a hard and dangerous job, I'm happy for her to do it, because I sure as f**k don't want to do it. I don't understand why anyone would want to do a hard or dangerous job just for the jollys.

All that good stuff like equal pay, the same regard from employers, the chance to do the same thing that men do, like play the lead in a Space Opera TV series rather than just the cute sidekick.

Like what, playing Dr Who? How unreal, and unbalanced. If someone can do the job, then they can do the job, that's all that matters.

Now I don't think you should be in the Para's if you can't complete the training, but that's fair if it applies to everyone equally. If some bird can do it, then fine she's a Para. People shouldn't be precluded from doing something because of the attitudes of other people towards them. Its has to be about whether they can do the job or not.

I think people feel threatened, because their power structure in society is being reduced towards a goal of equality.

What is this nonsense. We don't exist in nature, we wear shirts and trousers, live in houses and post on the internet. Hardly anything in our existence is based in nature.

But come on man, its a kids show, about a alien that transforms upon death into a new physical reality. Who cares if its a woman, or a man - the f**ker isn't even human.

I think the issue is that once equality is achieved then superiority is the next goal. Also, that 'equality' doesn't really mean equality, it means selecting the bits you like at the expense of someone else. The have your cake and eat it approach if you like.
We pander to women because we want to f*** them. A state of genuine equality cannot be achieved with two different creatures, especially where one is more beholden to the other in various specific ways.

Nick, how can you complain about the comments others make when you kind of do the same thing?

Women gaining the vote came from first wave feminism and is obviously a good result.

Though I would probably restrict voting rights to tax payers....with exceptions to people like carers...who are workers in all but name.

I watched the BBC sports news the other morning and the first three stories were about female only events. There was no mention of the World Para games, for instance, which I feel was just as important.

I think society has to be very careful the equality balance doesn't tilt in the opposite direction and that males don't end up being discriminated against.

I have some sympathy for this argument. I don't object to it on those grounds....No, I object to this within the framework of the attack upon masculinity generally....I pick on Dr Who because that shows is firstly aimed at kids and secondly has been very interested in social engineering in a 'progressive/regressive' way since its relaunch.

Again, interesting with your stereotypes...I'm not against you doing that at all...but do you stereotype femininity negativity?

Gender power is shifting yes....But very very selectively and with no respect to anything like fairness at all in my view.

So if you support equality then I imagine you also support fifty fifty representation within the fire service and other dangerous jobs.....Why aren't we seeing the push for this?

Cherry picking....it isn't about equality at all. It is anti fairness.

Not really a fair tangent is it?

Women already have equal pay. I agree that if you do the same job you should be paid the same. If you are regarded as better at the job or do more hours or other jobs you deserve more pay....male or female. Males often have the opportunity to do that more often than females. No unfairness exists there. These are roles people choose for themselves.

The 'gender pay gap' is not an honest summary of society and again it is...in the main... activists complaining about how women choose to live their lives.

I agree with this point of view.

But to be fair to me it isn't what I'm complaining about. The 'Dr Who' situation is just indicative of a wider argument I have been making about masculinity in general...you know that....I agree with 'best person for the job' as a concept....I just don't trust the producers of Dr Who to do this without their own agenda.

When I refer to 'equality' that's obviously a concept yet you respond with physical things.

'we wear shirts and trousers, live in houses and post on the internet.'

Well crabs use shells, many many animals live in enclosures they find or create...bears, birds, insects...and posting on the interest is just long range communication...countless animals do that...whales for example.....Pretty much anything you referred to has a version in nature, yet equality does not....the nearest there is to it exists with ant communities.

Yep, also I'm pretty sure the gender count on presenters on these programs isn't fifty fifty either.....Loose women chat show draws no 'progressive' criticism yet I bet a male blokey version would get heaps.....Just remember the continual attacks against pretty much the only blokey show on BBC 'Top Gear'...also one of their most popular.

The BBC were continually warning it for not being PC enough and in the end the beta males got it thrown off because one of their own couldn't take a punch in the gob from an old man....Pretty typical of them.

In short, hypocrisy.

Sounds like the worst drink on the market.
