He said he could see the talent and he could see he had to build the resilience. He also pointed out that Clattenburg was a f****** t***. Nothing wrong with any of that. No feeble excuses, no players thrown under the bus, and not afraid of telling it as he saw it. Fine. Did he not say that Clattenburg was one of the best referees in the world ?

But Wales're onto plums now as far as qualification for the World Cup is concerned, unless they undergo some Lazarene rise. He was on reasonably short odds to come to us. Edited by chateauferret (26 Dec 2016 4.32pm) Still in our own hands, all dependent on the Ireland games, balls them up and we are out

Yes, very frustrating - but I think it's five points lost, not seven. We would have won the 1-1 draw with Bournemouth, drawn the 0-1 loss to the Spammers, and won today instead of drawing. That equals five points, but still enough to have us in mid-table. Let's hope Big Sam sorts this too. Edited by peterg (26 Dec 2016 3.37pm) Yep, thanks for the correction

sorry but this is rubbish. What exactly did he say that was wrong or 'sour' as you put it The tackle on Zaha clearly isn't enough a penalty, silly to claim otherwise. Not a dive and a yellow but nor is it a penalty as Allardyce claimed. Also he was a bit sour regarding Watford's performance. If you've criticized Allardyce's comments about us when he was at West Ham let's say, then you can not argue that he didn't give similar comments today.

There were some positives to take away from the game, and also some negatives. Sam will have seen the best and worst of Palace today, all in one game. Had Benteke have scored, I think we would have won comfortably. But the second half performance was a disappointment.

Obviously SA has to make his mark on the team, but people claiming to be happy with a point and saw good signs, really?

Spot on Matthau. My earlier post was a cryptic message which has apparently gone over many heads but I won't explain it. Maybe I'm just a dinosaur. My point is that maybe it is the players that repeatedly cost us rather than the manager, who wasn't responsible for giving away or missing a penalty today. Pardew would have been slaughtered today but we must give Allardyce time. ..

Imagine how Swansea at home would feel if Pardew were still our coach and they had replaced Bradley with Allardyce. Much more confident about it now. Sam Poltergeist is and was much more accomplished on the pitch than Pardew ever was and is.
