Well that was hardly a surprise.

Who does he sue?

He hasn't been stopped. He is currently employed as a footballer (and actually doing pretty well at Chesterfield from my understanding).

I still wouldn't want my team anywhere near him and I suspect most professional clubs will be of the same mindset.

That's not necessarily fair - he has been found not guilty - but it's the reality. The negative press associated with his employment are too much for most clubs to risk.

I know he is playing now but look how long that took. A few clubs may be willing to take a chance on him but not so sure they will. He was starting to come good as a player but that development stopped dead in its tracks when he was sent down. He is unlikely to "make it" now.

he deserves to resume his football career now but I wouldn't want him at Palace. A bloke who goes through women like that, in a state like that, and cheats on his Mrs like that isn't a good role model.

Little bit uncomfortable that a £50k reward was on offer that led to his acquittal and that evidence from 2 past sexual partners was permissible evidence.

This never looked like a cut and dry case. Probably the right verdict in the end but the way this one has been handled is just going to make people even more reluctant to come forward.

I don't think he was ever going to be convicted this time round as the prosecution couldn't offer any evidence beyond that which led to the original conviction being quashed.

It shows the police and particularly the CPS in a very bad light, though. Perhaps they'll be a little less sensitive to the shrieks of wimmin and other assorted f*ckwits next time.

The guy clearly has the morals of an alley cat but that ain't a crime. Yet.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Presumably everyone involved in the witch hunt that were so quick to condemn him will apologise now will they? I doubt it somehow.

He's obviously a fairly unpleasant bloke to have cheated on his girlfriend, and in such a seedy manner, but clearly never deserved prison and the do-gooder online mob should be ashamed of themselves.

Do you feel the same when Crime Stoppers do it? And is there any evidence anyone was paid £50K?

you're quite right he isn't the only one, and there may even be a few at our club already, but that's not to say I want to open the doors to all and sundry.

If football is to clean up its act from top to bottom, it includes the likes of the fat greedy b******s taking backhanders at the top 'because that's the way it's always been' and the fit greedy b******s at the bottom abusing women 'because they can'.
