However, to elaborate, where is the concerted effort from the community to root out extremists and where are the multitude of prosecutions following such actions? Where are numbers of holiday jihadists prevented from going to Syria, etc., by the community? Where are numbers of funding groups shut down by the community? You have offered a patchy flavour and in some cases, a very dated flavour. I am simply not convinced. FYI - both 'fatwas' will have the same effect, I.e., regarded as hot air by most people.

Most people, but they're fairly important to the right people. Of course protests don't have much effect either, because they get ignored as well (hence an Iraq war).

Everyones entitled to an opinion. What is concerning is people who retain it regardless of evidence to the contry.

I have addressed this. However, to elaborate, where is the concerted effort from the community to root out extremists and where are the multitude of prosecutions following such actions?

Where are numbers of holiday jihadists prevented from going to Syria, etc., by the community?

Where are numbers of funding groups shut down by the community?

You have offered a patchy flavour and in some cases, a very dated flavour. I am simply not convinced.
