So the pacy, not injury prone, cheap option defender that is rio Ferdinand is having his medical at QPR ......this is the deal clincher that will get them caulker....

Also looks like a 1 year deal, so caulker may only have a season with him? Hardly building them to be a future pairing

Just when I thought that I was out...........they pull me back in

Exactly. The fact this has even been mentioned as a possible reason caulker will go there is hilarious.....I suppose if caulker does end up at QPR, rather than caulker saying" they are paying me a lot more money than anyone else",he will state that playing with rio Ferdinand was to good an opportunity to turn down.

I was quite excited about the possibility of signing SC, however, the longer this has gone on makes me think we should withdraw offer and look elsewhere.

Why, for the love of god why!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The longer this drags on, the more we will all get frustrated. Caulker is a good defender, no doubt about that, but if he chooses QPR and that crook Redknapp over us, we should look elsewhere and go for either Michael Dawson or Brede Hangeland.

I think the Mirror simply built us up to knock us down. Time will tell.

So our transfer policy is to identify players that we want and then offer them either less than they already earn or less than other competing clubs will pay them.

Well it worked for the signing of Chamakh and Dann, it's called living within your means.

Overrated, relegated defender.
Can't remember anyone saying how good he was last year.

Actually, early in the year when Cardiff were doing well, everyone was saying how good he was. Then it all fell apart spectacularly and, as most of us know, that wasn't down to Caulker. Yes, in the second half of the season he struggled. So did everyone including Wilf, who could barely even get in the starting line-up. Do you think Wilf's rubbish too?

The fact that Cardiff went down is a plus as it likely means we have a shot at getting Caulker we wouldn't otherwise have, and possibly for a lower than expected price. If you honestly can't see that getting a 22 year old England capped central defender would be a step forward then I'm glad you haven't got a job in scouting for Palace.

Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God.

And he was superb at Swansea. Need I remind you that Scott Dann has been relegated twice?

And how many did it not work for ? Its called identifying realistic targets.
