If she just left, was that entirely voluntary after a period of undiminished success, or was it forced on her by an abysmal performance? Asking for a friend.

Just read the threads Becky- and repeat that! Reading the threads is something I do several times every day - ALL of them... A poster referred to your ability to live in any European country of your choice - something that you have happily trumpeted on here frequently. Your response referenced an unsubstantiated claim made by a banned poster with a lot of proven grudges. If you think that is bias, please feel free to complain to the webmaster.

So nobody here thinks it is now possible that the 'alleged' 102 BJ backers now support Penny Mordaunt ? Perhaps she can still win if it goes to the membership.

I think Mordaunt is a unifying candidate I think the whole thing stinks we have a huge democratic deficit, but the tories could go for her. The best outcome though an early general election. What is to come will be very painful I don't think yet another rich unchosen by the public toff is at all helpful. Hunt's cuts are bound to cause a deep recession imo.

I don't think many of us are going to like it.

But what would actually change if Starmer was running things? Why would he be allowed to raise money on the markets when Truss was not? Yes, I know I 'labour' the point, but for me this is what is mind-blowing. A British PM is effectively just a figure head now. And if the 'markets' will do that to a Tory, what on earth will they do to a supposed Left-winger?

I think we need to stop, before we start, describing what's coming as "Hunt's cuts". Whoever is Chancellor must do the same, unless they are going to behave irresponsibly again. This really isn't the time for Punch and Judy politics. We are certainly facing a deep recession and we need to all pull together to get through it. I know that's probably a forlorn hope and in a month or two Hunt will be seen as a devil, and not the hero he is now.

I don"t complain, but want fair refereeing on left and right- thats all I ask! Anyway- the matter has been put to bed- we can all move on- petty arguing is stress for both and not healthy!
