It's a bizarre season and under Roy we have 29 points with 14 games left.

He should manage his remit well before the end.

I think he may be getting tired of it, it is not much fun being dragged around the country in the present circumstances at 73.

Leaking goals at the start repeatedly are a sign that the players are not getting it, but in Roy we trust.

I have said before that I feel sorry for our manager, he is struggling against some really awful individual cock ups and a huge lack of effort to cover for each other, when we made the huge massive cock up for Burnley's first goal nobody moved at all, they all just watched and not happy with that they repeated it again with Burnley's corner so to say 'told you we can't play football'! if they don't like our manager why are they making themselves look ridiculously stupid in doing it, someone needs to come out and spill the beans.

SP probably needs the Americans to sign off on a manager change / pay off. Maybe he can't convince them.

Unfortunately it seems they are not interested, so I guess they probably aren't even watching the matches and seeing how poor we are. At best they may look at the league table and think... 'we'll be safe again this year, why change?'.

What is the saying? Nature abhors a vacuum. Well that’s kinda the issue right now: an absence of certainty, both managerial and squad contracts. In such circumstances is it any surprise that key team members aren’t playing for a dead duck manager? We won’t improve until he’s awarded a new contract or replaced. Then the players will have a reason to put a shift in.

You'd have thought though they would at least try to play football up until they had accumulated the desired points and seeing we are so near to this get it over and done with quickly, then they can show the club what they think by letting teams score left right and centre as they did in the last game with our last ten games, just like they did last season, ...Doh!

I understand our squad is decimated at the moment but Roy has absolutely no excuse for that team he sent out on Saturday. Starting Benteke and Batsh1t up front together was criminal. And even more criminal was the fact he stuck with that exact lineup and tactics till the 62nd minute. I honestly can’t get my head around what he is thinking sometimes, Any other manager in the division would have made changes at half time.

Also without Zaha we have 1 player who can really dictate our play and take the game to the opposition, Eze, and rather than move him into the centre he leaves him out on the wing.

I have defended and made excuses for him the last few years but I really can’t wait to see the back of him now. I am still angry about yesterday on a Sunday evening.

It would appear that more are more fans are seeing through the Hodgson myth.
Did a good job initially with us and also with Fulham and WBA.
Our greatest manager ever?
Not too many claiming that now.
He's a one trick pony and continues the same approach even when it's evident to all that it's not working.
His defenders say fans don't see what happens on the training ground in terms of his selections.
Well Luka must have been absolutely brilliant on the training ground to continue to be selected after a year of under performance.

The agreement is Parish runs the club. He won't want to pay off Toy as that costs money we do not have. That and money to hire a new guy.

We were skint before the pandemic and with no match day income we are even more skint.

Cheapest thing to do is what is happening. We are letting the majority of the first teams contracts run down and are drifting in the hope that the summer brings an end to the current shut down.

We will then just have to see if Parish has the ability to rebuild or we will soon find ourselves on a downward spiral.

Have we considered that Roy may have lost the dressing room? I know he is, rightly, well respected but bigger managers than him have lost the players. Once this has happened can’t regain them. Wasn’t it Delaney that spoke to Parish and told him he had to ditch FDB?

He'd lost it before the end of last season.

The pictures of the changing room after Wolves away at the end of last season told 1,000 words.

None of the players are interested but we've he's made sure there are no big characters to challenge him.

Who can blame them after the way they are set up every week. They know they aren't being allowed to play to their strengths. When things start going wrong, they look to the bench and get no help from the manager who just looks on like a lost owl and tells them to carry on doing exactly the same thing.

I'm sure Roy will insist it's the players not following his instructions and nothing to do with his inept tactics that have failed him so many times over the decades.

He's not well respected in the game. People are just polite because he is old.

Well I think Hodgson can deliver the points we need and my guess is that Parish thinks so too.

Last thing we need, and I really don't see it happening, is to make change managers twice.

I don't think the majority of the names you propose are realistic in many cases. I would say more than just question marks !

We are 14pts above the relegation zone Nostradamus, my Aunty Pauline could manage the team until the end of the season and get us the points we need.

And what you are not grasping is the possibility that Parish may have to wait until the end of the season to get his preferred candidate - should the position become available.

Unless you are another one that just wants Hodgson out so badly that you would replace him with just anybody - which makes no sense at all.

Yeah I failed to grasp that point in my post just 2 posts back.

No way of earth??? Thats big words. Parish is ruthless when he needs to be and he will be fully aware of the advantages (that i and others have stated) of making the change now rather than at the end of the year. The key will be if the man they want to replace Roy with is available now, if he is I will be very surprised if Roy sees the season out.

And there is always a team that drops like a stone in the second half of the season and to make matters worse most of the players who played yesterday and are soon to be out of contract, don't seem to give a toss.
1 of the few potentially winnable games we have against Fulham is now massive given the likely outcome on the south coast.

And in about 10 minutes time that will be 11 points above the relegation zone with the 3rd from bottom having a game in hand on us, so potentially then only 8 points clear with 14 games to go...

Still confident in Roy and Auntie Pauline??

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!
