Ukip leader Nigel Farage claims the fact black people at a Catford petrol station took selfies with him shows his party is only considered racist by white middle class people. Mr Farage told the Daily Mail: "I stopped this morning to get some newspapers in a petrol station in Catford. Everybody was black, getting petrol, buying newspapers. "It's unbelievable, they all wanted selfies and pictures. And the only people who think Ukip are racist are white people, middle class white people. "Come with me to a black part of south London, walk down the street, and you will find black people going: 'Hey man, good to see you‎'." Mr Farage, who last year said he felt awkward because of the lack of English being spoken on a Southeastern train through Hither Green, went on to say that there was no evidence whatsoever to support claims his party is racist. Ukip's election candidate for Lewisham East, the seat covering Catford, is Anne-Marie Waters, who earlier this month called for immigration from Islamic countries to stop and mosques to close down. Indeed, people shouldn't mistake being a bit of a t*** for being a racist. UKIP aren't racist, but they're pulling in quite a few votes from people who are, and probably have a number of racists among their supporters. But on the whole, I'd imagine that Farage isn't overly concerned about colour. The rest of the party, are a bit of a crap shoot of the UK. I think they're actually more representative of the UK than Tories/Libs/Labour, because they don't seem to have screened out the mentalists. And the UK population is full of mentalists.

Its almost as if it sells newspapers and content, to print only the 'inflamtory' side of stories. I mean you hear a lot about crazy Muslims, but you don't actually ever seem to see or met them. I'll bet Lee Rigby's family wished he hadn't seen or met crazy Muslims Jamie.

How is that different from this man's crime? PS. You know you have used the term "bender" on here. Don't bother asking me to find where.

Just saying. It's a post about UKIP on a UKIP thread Johnny. There has been a constant stream of such posts, not only from Nick. Once you look past the tedious ad hominem attacks on UKIP candidates, where is the credible voice of the left? Natalie Bennett? Don't make me laugh.

The reason for their vitriol against UKIP is driven by the fact that during this time when there is lowest respect for mainstream politicians and when 'fringe' parties such as he SNP and UKIP are in double digits in the polls (quite how that will equate to seats differs for both parties) the left have failed to provide a voice, a message and leader. The left are always what they have been, a bunch of self righteous posho's who love nothing more than arguing with themselves. They simply cannot form a party I the same way UKIP has. It's pathetic but funny.
