Favre has been available since December. If SP fancied him he could have held talks before Roy’s departure was even announced. While the outcome might have been no different at least valuable time would not have been wasted.

We all know what the challenges are and the conditions attached to the job are. Too much for Nuno to compromise and too much altogether for Favre it would seem. So if it is Cooper, then at least he comes in knowing the above and also knowing he wasn’t first choice. Talking to a Swansea fan in Wales today he confirmed what we have already heard. He’d be more than happy to see Cooper leave. Commented that when Swansea were playing well he would unfathomably change the team and it would all start going wrong thereafter.
