Todays first download is the last ever live show performed by the legendary Curtis Mayfield. This show was recorded at the Summerstage Festival in July 1990. Only a couple of months later he was paralysed when stage lighting equipment toppled over and fell on him - he was unable to move from the neck down and never performed live again. This show is in superb quality and is very rare - although he doesn't perform his greatest track "Move On Up" this is still a great show. I remember seeing Curtis at a free gig at the Crystal Palace Bowl - early 80's I think... that was a good show as well and I will be posting a boot by Curtis from the 80's as one of tomorrows downloads. Todays second download is a set by Robin Trower that was recorded in front of a small audience at a studio in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1974. That's all the info available on this boot which is taken from the notes and from the artwork in the file. This is in superb quality and RT really burns the guitar strings on this one... RT's band is only a 3 piece band with lead guitar, bass and drums - but they make one helluva noise. This is classic Trower and is thoroughly recommended....... Todays extra download is an audience recorded bootleg by Joy Division that was recorded at the Nashville Ballroom, London in 1979. I don't normally post audience recorded bootlegs as they usually sound terrible - but I had a request for this one. It's not a bad audience recording - I've heard a lot worse. Bootlegs by this band in decent quality are very rare - I've only got a few. There's no "Love Will Tear Us Apart" on this one - but it's still a good set.
