Obviously we shouldn't read too much in to these things but... A Yougov poll now has the Tories failing to get a majority. Hard to imagine anyone would jump in to bed with them on the manifesto they've got, so... Corbyn 4 No.10? Question, one made by me a few times yet unanswered - how will Corbyn win if he doesn't get back Scotland?

I suspect the more pertinent question might be,are you actually aware you have no idea what you are talking about? The Bar is a tried and tested preparation for good politicians. For example,22% of Conservative MP's have a legal background. Plus Starmer has been DPP and head of the CPS,a distinctly ungenteel job. I suspect he would in fact take your boy Mr D to pieces in a brain and nous not bluster and brawn contest that wouldn't go the distance.. That's the same DD who showed his political talents by losing a Tory leadership campaign he was favourite to win in 2005 by running a naff campaign epitomised by a picture with two women wearing tight T-shirts saying: Its DD for me. Having worked at the House of Commons and as a lawyer,I might be reasonably placed to venture the opinion (just an opinion)that the Bar is every bit as tough and mucky a cesspit for "operators" to succeed in as parliament. Any meaningful resemblance between Rumpole (set 30 plus years ago anyway)and day to day litigation lawyer life exists IMHO only in the minds of those who engage in fantasy based on reading novels and/or watching TV. Have you ever actually worked as/at either? Edited by legaleagle (30 May 2017 10.43pm) So you are not going to answer my questions or points but will instead launch into a series of unrelated and somewhat bizarre comments, eh Rumpole? Personally I believe you to be the stereotypical conveyancing lawyer, stuck in a provincial office, whom fantasises about the big time, making incredible and insightful speeches to the jury in the closing of murder trials, frees the common man from the clutches of the state and brings down authority figures with his flair for obtaining the truth of their activities, yet spends his time checking chancel repair searches, rueing societies oversight in only using him to sort out sales and purchases of surburban properties.

I see him more as the guy who phones people up trying to get them to make spurious claims for whiplash injuries.

How much is legal aid now. Used to be you could take your boss/company to tribunal. Now you need 1.8 k to stump up in case you lose. Yes, I think it is more difficult these days for chancers to pursue spurious claims against their employers. Why don't Unions represent their members, that is the sort of thing that unions are supposed to exist for.

We are dealing with a slightly angry loner, not to Breivik or Unabomber levels, whom works in a job he sees as beneath him and creates an online fantasy life that he believes will be believed by others. However, it is far too easy to see through this charade because of the insecurity and contradictions contained within his posts. He also probably thinks he is not telling lies. He is a lawyer and has been to House of Commons but it was in the viewing gallery to watch Blair launch one of his oil wars. At 9.00 he will be stuck behind his desk at the Sutton branch of his employers, reviewing a search for a house purchase in Epsom.

Just remembering those little slips you make every now and again which shine a light into your personal hell. How can you be a property developer and a rabid lefty? Easy! Create a bulls*** persona on a message board and dump all your guilt on there, making all those who have opposing views either 'uncompassionate' or 'trolls'.

Wrong, wrong and wrong, again Though I do detect the potential for a pulp novelist.. I do love you when you accelerate from fifth gear into plain bonkers mode...
