And how do we do that in 20 days It’s entirely possible that you the club have been working on this already expecting the worst after the Arsenal bid. The only thing we know for a fact is nobody outside the club actually knows what is going on transfer wise - the interweb has allowed conjecture, rumour & BS to grow way beyond reality.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle I think we desperately need a replacement sooner rather than later. If we let him go and then try to find someone else the selling club holds all the cards and knows we have money in the bank. Would be so nice if we could be ahead of the curve just once. Also, lots of comments criticising him for wanting to leave after signing a 4 year deal. We need to be careful with that as don’t want to put other players, such as luka, off signing longer contracts. Ultimately we’d be criticising him if we ran his deal down so can’t also criticise him for re-signing.

He went to Utd and did not fit in with there style, Loaned out to Cardiff same story. Came back down on confidence we rebuilt that, and has been. Great player for us, But it is time to sell, Why not take Lockman in Pratt exchange? But please not another ex Palace player!!! We won't get relegated we may struggle with a new style for a while, but remember we are PALACE

The only thing we know for a fact is nobody outside the club actually knows what is going on transfer wise - the interweb has allowed conjecture, rumour & BS to grow way beyond reality. My understanding is that DF's team was briefed towards looking at potential replacements for AWB and Wilf as they were our most sought after players. Taking the AWB case first - we were heavily linked with Castogne and Aarons. How much that is due to agents using us as leverage for a better deal for their players, who knows ? But both signed new deals with their clubs although I still think Norwich might sell for the right price. So we may have to discount them. With Wilf the replacement scenario is now looking like it could be real. I don't think the club planned or wanted to sell after AWB's departure and it's difficult to line up what could be a significant outlay on a player without clarity on whether he is going or not. I think we have to hope / believe that Palace are pulling out all the stops to bring the required players in. Time will tell.

I'm getting lost. Are you saying just that the replacement scenario for Wilf could be real - which is so obviously true that it's not worth saying; or that it is probably real - in which case what grounds do you have for saying it?

In the context of what I posted it is worth saying. While the club were aware that they might part company with either player, it wasn't anticipated that both would go. I think the search for AWB's replacement had more emphasis at the time although it remains unresolved. I'm not saying he's probably going - I don't know any more about that than you do.

That was without having funds or trying to evolve without Zaha. He has to be sold at some point. The question is for how much and how we deal with it after he goes. He can’t play until he dies and at some point he’ll be worth next to nothing. The club needs to know what they’ll do with the money as much as how much they’re demanding or holding out for. Edited by Rudi Hedman (19 Jul 2019 12.40pm) We are under no pressure to sell. 100 million should be a minimum price. When he is due to be sold in two years, we can plan for his departure.

But the higher the bid, the more pressure there will be. Not the kind you’re referring to us needing to sell but Zaha & co (that’s what it is now) mounting the pressure on us accepting the bid.

That is why we should only consider selling at a massive over price. 100 million is what he is worth, so even that would not be a good deal for us.

You’re again ignoring player power and how real life works. We’ll see. Arsenal aren’t going to just stump up the montane neither will other clubs so that’s what’s possible.
