This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle Parish will not bring in a couple of 100k+ a week players before Wilf has gone, because if Wilfs deal collapsed the financial situation would be dire, there is simply no time.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle Which pr1ck of Wilf’s Klingons there for free money off him has piped up today? If I were him I’d see straight through these so called advisors and fvck them off, fast. I’m beginning to see the attraction to Arsenal now. They aren’t in the top 4 or champions league so if they don’t get there with Wilf in the team, which they won’t with that defence and def midfield, then he’s free from criticism. It’s similar to the no end product accusation and with the Arsenal players addicted to making youtube videos of trickery and dancing, it should make up for never winning a trophy or playing in the champions league there either. Well not a major trophy. Probably a league cup barely anyone watches anymore. Edited by Rudi Hedman (19 Jul 2019 9.29am)

Nobody except Wilf and the club knows whats really going on behind the scenes but Id like to think that he is just trying to pressure the owners into signing some quality players. Deep down I don't think he wants to go anywhere but at this present moment the club is showing zero ambition and that does not match his own. Let's just hope we make a couple of big signings very soon and that is enough is to keep him happy. There is no point in signing players for the sake of it but our current scouting system looks very flawed. We never seem to be able to unearth a hidden gem. Luka?

Edited by Rudi Hedman (19 Jul 2019 9.29am) Sky's 'source' seems to be his brother (who isn't actually his brother) Judicael this window. That alone makes me laugh - they put in print/text that they were brothers then after being called out on it referred to him verbally as "one of his closest friends" a couple of times before going quiet on their original story. Sky & their team are clearly charged with creating traffic to Skybet so will grab anything they can to do so - irrespective of any facts contradicting them. Yesterday's tweet was timed perfectly for the rest of the media to pick up for their evening issues. Nobody questions it or checks anything as it's SSN yet if they followed SM outlets they might just have seen Wilf back in London on Monday & off on a break Wednesday. Yes, he might have asked to go but for SSN to report this will happen "when he returns from AFCON duties" makes it seem BS - you'd have thought they might have checked where he was or even simply noted that the IC have been out of the competition for a while. Perhaps we should do away with transfer windows & then see how much BS SSN broadcast - it's becoming more & more the SSN show every window. W*****s. Sorry, meant to say this was all underlined when they posted later that he had returned & asked to go.

But ultimately it's the player himself that is in a position to either confirm or deny speculation.

No. We don't just replace him. How does our club attract someone of that quality? We won't. No Wilf, no Premier League. Or, alternatively, we buy different types of players as we no longer need to build a team around him if he's not here? Much (probably) depends on the club's future managerial strategy - he's not exactly a Roy type of player after all. And, yes, I get that I might be blindingly stupid in believing we might have a managerial strategy going forwards.....

Selling AWB probably convinced Wilf that it is time to go. Which one to sell first was never going to be an easy choice, if you have a choice. There’s pros and cons to either order of sale and nobody knows the better choice and outcome, but only the young, naive or deluded believe we don’t need to sell both at some stage. The issues really are what we do afterwards. The jury is out on us buying a RB but we usually do things as late as possible so itsxof no surprise unfortunately and we have Ward who’s good for a few games, as he was when the season wound down last season so I’ll expect the same for a month or so in August/September. I’m far from happy about any of it but it’s the reality we’re in because of decisions made previously.
