During the lockdown watching Palace was one thing to look forward to. Now I can't even be bothered to watch us. Why should I? The players can't be bothered to play.

Go to waitrose or your local supermarket, it's the highlight of my week

Thank goodness for Covid -
at least I don't have to travel 2 hours each way to Selhurst just to tear my hair out in frustration.

Just like the team and the manager, time is catching up with me and I have probably bought my last season ticket.

My wallet is sending a message to the board, and frankly, the board needs to take an interest my decision.

What a ridiculous thing to come out with. Do you not realise that people are dying ? Probably quite a few Palace supporters haven’t made it, including my dad who was a season ticket holder. He died 3 weeks ago.

I've generally been in favour of Roy staying until the summer and then going, with Parish hopefully already lining up his replacement. However yesterday was so abject with the players looking all at sea and lacking in any self belief, that I wonder if we can afford to wait until then. True Wilf's return will undoubtedly provide a lift but how soon will that be and will it be enough? Clearly the players themselves must take their share of the blame for such awful performances lately, but it is obvious that Roy seems incapable of inspiring them to raise their game and compete. Why were we second best in every aspect of the game? This is totally unacceptable and I hope Parish recognises the mess we are in and is planning to take action soon! COYP

Roy gets away with it because the bar is set low: Premiership survival is a means to an end, and we could finish 16th or 17th and he has achieved the target. In 8 seasons we haven't progressed at all since the days of Tony Pulis, Hodgson despite having his "best ever squad", has steadily gone backwards.
Roy gets away with it because there are no crowds, I think most here agree that by now Parish would have heard the disgruntlement from the stands and acted in one way or another.
Roy gets away with it because quite frankly the standard in the Premiership is woeful, this season being particularly bad, perhaps this is because of the fans not being present, but whatever the cause, Roy's task is made easier by the standard of opposition - remarkably there are worse teams than us!
Ultimately it depends on the ambition of the owners and the voice of the fans, I am increasingly thinking of the likelyhood of a drop down to the Championship from where we can get rid of the deadwood and start anew with the parachute payment, a few experienced pros, and a batch of youngsters with an enthusiastic front foot manager.
At the moment we are dining on the thinnest of gruel, and it's not good enough, the ambition is set too low.

I just cannot accept it’s the players not the manager line. Saying no one can achieve more with the players we have is total nonsense. If that’s the case what’s the point of it all. Look at the lift Dowie gave the club when he came in. Different set of players, different time and league granted but the denial of what a quality manager can have on a team is baffling to me.

There is no doubt we, like other teams ,are suffering from injuries .However some of the players yesterday looked totally disinterested and Roy seems unable to motivate them probably because he has realised his contract will not be renewed. He is talking about a new contract but note Parish has said nothing at all.
I reckon that by end of March Eddie Howe will be in charge

Lets not renew the following contracts

Van Anholt
Benteke
Cahill
Dann
Sakho

Can't make my mind up about Luka

We don't want Batschuayi

You said “remarkable there are worse teams than us” Over the season, yes. But, I don’t think at this present time that is true. I don’t believe we are capable of being able to beat, let alone draw with any team in the Premiership. I would go as far as to say most teams in the Championship would beat us? If Hodgson changes back to his defence minded midfield we may beat the drop and pick up enough points to keep the bottom 3 as they are. We will be 4th from bottom very soon.

I agree! At the present time we are probably the worst team in the Premiership. There are still many games to play and my prediction at the beginning of the season (based on Hodgson's career trajectory, the end to last season, limited new signings and a very negative style of play) was 16th or 17th. Which for Parish seems good enough...

Some people on here make me thankful they don't run the club. We'd be nowhere near the standard we are today as an established Premier League club if they were.

As frustrating as Roy can be, what are you expecting - exactly? Consistent top half finishes challenging for Europe? Great! Well we're gonna need to spend a tiny bit more than a 5er every 3 seasons to achieve that.

Until then, Roy Hodgson will have kept us comfortably up 4 years on the spin. And trust me, with Scott Dann as a regular starter - that is some achievement.

After yesterday I am not sure it will be that comfortable this year. Luckily the bottom 3 will have to produce a near miracle, although they do happen.

I know that we have to be careful and manage our expectations. It is not that we are losing it is the way in which it is happening that makes it hard to watch. We appear to have our best ever premier league squad and are hardly attacking. I do not necessarily want a playing out from the back style football just some goalmouth action which is not at our end. We are being arguably outplayed in our last 5 games and Roy has somehow organised the team to win two. This is creditable but can we continue particularly when we are losing it is by some margin.

Due to the poor fair on offer from us on the pitch the only excitement that I can get from the league is encouraging teams to beat Fulham. Yesterday was another example of a game lost at half time or earlier but no change to the team until the hour. This is now so regular in games from Roy that a change of management is long overdue. If this is a statement to the owners to invest in the team for the future he may as well go now as that will not probably happen unless they have squirreled away a treasure chest. Expect not and Covid has probably scuppered that. Possibly it is due to his inability to take a risk/methods. Either way he should make way.

I agree. Most sensible palace fans are not calling for possession based, tikka takka type football, that’s never been in our dna. Showing attacking internet, a plan to try and win a game of football is what I would like to see. Roy is a pragmatic coach, that’s his style and fair enough. Imo his time with us has reached its expiry date. It happens with all managers/players. The signs point towards this happening at the end of the season.
