Kenny Sansom,he had the lot and was here from the start.Played for England as a third division player,a true natural footballer.Really hope he sorts himself out.

Wonder if any of the current side will make this list? Bar Speroni of course, he's a no-brainer...

John Jacko Jackson best palace goalkeeper ever. would have played for England had we not been in 3 rd division. CPFC since 1967 before that too young to have a view !!

Not the best Palace player ever but my favourite was Kevin Mabbutt. After the dark ages of Aylott, Langley, McCullough, Edwards, Mahoney, Evans etc we suddenly got a forward with pace, intelligence, skill, guile who was powerful enough...shame his career was so short.

Either your memory is letting you down or you're getting your facts mixed up. Jackson was our keeper in Division One for four years and was promptly (and disgracefully) moved on by Malcolm Allison after relegation. Paul Hammond and Tony Burns were our keepers in the Third Division. Jacko indeed never played for England but he did play for the Football League which had one representative game a year (can't remember who against) as a sort of "alternative" England team. Also my favourite Palace player ever.
Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God. |
