Trump looks a little different after the shooting. He looks a little emotional. I would too if i just had a brush with death. Edited by eaglesdare (17 Jul 2024 2.46pm)

If Biden is such a decent chap as some opine then why did he allow his administration to deny Kennedy Jnr...a man who has death threats from both sides....deny him secret service protection until after this attempt on Trump's life? There are words and there are actions.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, until then off you trot Hardly extraordinary, though, is it? Unless you choose to ignore and be selective of course. Also your opening statement - not all extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. An attempt to be clever perhaps, I’ll let you off this time. (To reiterate, my ‘claim’ is not particularly extraordinary) Do you have any objective visibility of the increasingly aggressive and acerbic content being pumped out by both Dems and Republicans since 2016? Because it seems to me that you don’t. Well, unless you’re firmly in one camp and not the other. FYI brainwashing is not exclusive to those who follow MSM.

However, I think the VP pick did make mention of this at the candidate stage in 2015/16 ago but changed his tune years ago now. I don't think it's correct to say that the past was anywhere near this polarized. I'm 55 soon and I've literally lived and remember US politics from the early 80s onwards. It wasn't friendly sure but it just wasn't this aggressive or hyperbolic. Assassinations of the past were more common because the lessons, protections and technology to evade them weren't available like today. The fruitcakes will always be out there whether these politicians abused each other or shook hands and gave each other cakes.
I studied US politics back in the 1970s one of the differences between US and UK parties at that time was the readiness to co-operate and the willingness to cross the floor. Today US parties are no different to their UK cousins things have got a lot more bad tempered. That said for about 50 years before the Civil War things were certainly spicier so maybe that is the norm and the seventies was the exception.

This is a bit simplistic. You're effectively suggesting that the ideal bobby should be 6ft 3, fit, and sub-30 – and diversity and inclusion is the reason that they're not all like that, in the UK at least. I mean, where to start The police are already struggling to recruit as it is. Now you want to restrict hiring to a certain size and shape? Diversity hires aren't the issue, lack of hires are the issue. They have to take what they get as intake – small, tall, fat, fit or thin. I know for a fact that if the standards were the same as they were 20 years ago to get in the force would be in serious trouble. They just don't have the luxury of cherrypicking anymore. Shouldn’t the ideal Bobby be of that ilk then. It’s almost as if you are disappointed

I see the same people who wore ridiculous nappies on their face for a few years are now complaining about the bandage on Trump's ear after he was shot.

If the left had reacted objectively and logically to Trump instead of these emotional and childish rants that signify practically everything he does.... they would have done so much better. The leftist media are the most to blame as Trump is great for their numbers so making a big song and dance about everything is money for them. Problem for them is that weakens their party and deranges their audience. However, if Trump wins they indirectly win as well as they will then spend the next four years ranting away and bringing in more money than today....double edged sword. Trump gets away with being outlandish because....like Bill Clinton before him he's like Teflon....it doesn't matter what he does his support base won't be influenced.....Acting like Trump in return only gives Trump ammo. It's going to affect even the strongest to some extent let alone a rich guy use to the easy life. It's a testament to him that he's not taken a step back but I imagine it's having an effect.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |
