I've been coming round to Henderson, I'd of said 'no contest' previously.

Johnstone represents a solid keeper all round for me.

Henderson's distribution and shot stopping have begun to look superior to Johnstone's however he is certainly less of a physical presence.

I'd therefore be inclined to play Johnstone against a Sean Dyche side but Henderson against a Guardiola one, if that makes sense, without a definitive 'no.1'.

Happy for that to be Glasner's problem and trust his decision!

Played a blinder up at the Etihad last season.

Does anybody have a clue what our best starting 11 will be come the kick off for the season? I’m a bit lost now as there seems to have been no movement on Eze or MG so assuming they stay and with Sarr coming it looks like our business is done for this summer. Assuming all fit who will it be…

For me it would be.

SJ
Richard’s anderson MG

Munoz Mitchell

CD Wharton

Sarr JPM Eze

That would leave us with a very strong bench. Hughes and Lerma can feel very hard done by as both have been excellent.
Henderson also has looked much much better.

Just my opinion though on the above and glad I don’t have to make the call.

Does feel like a very strong team. Suspect Eze may not start the season as he's not back yet, same with MG. So gives the new guys chance to shine.

Feels very odd having more than 11 players you wouldn't mind playing

I can’t ever remember us having such depth of squad. We really have taken a huge step forward. Maybe now we won’t be the team everyone thinks will be relegated before a ball has even been kicked.
Testament to OG and DF that we may not miss Olise quite as much as we all thought.

My eleven would be Henderson, Guehi,Andesen, Riad midfield Munoz Wharton,D ecoure, Mitchell Forwards Mateta, Kamada,Eze. So no room for sarr.

Looks good, tho, i'd personally sway Kamada for Sarr, not been impressed with DK from what ive seen so far(time will tell). As for the two in midfield, it's any two from 4. Still, opinions.

I think Wharton is first pick for a centre midfield berth.

The additions we’ve made this summer look like they could be shrewd acquisitions, but the team is likely to be not as strong without Olise, probably Guehi and possibly Eze.

That’s no crime - they are special and difficult to replace players.
It’s noteworthy though the sort of players that our competitors Fulham and West Ham are bringing in ( Smith Rowe, possibly McTominay,Fulkrug , Somerville, AWB , Kilman).
Not all are over the line, but the prices give some ideas of the scale of their ambitions.

It’s not just about fees of course as high priced players have been known to fail.
However, all the aforementioned players have good qualities.

Looks ok to me, 26 players with, i think 3 poss 4 'underage' so gives us about 2-3 spaces left for the squad. Read a rumour y/day Ahamada wants to move(not starting etc) & of course, we still have 2 loan spots if needed(usually Jan). Don't think we used them last season.
