Sadly, many civilians are still going to die. As if being forced to live in a 5hlt-hole all their lives wasn't bad enough.
With all the military expertise in the world, it will be impossible not to incur significant civilian casualties whilst attempting to pursue Hamas. Israel and everyone else knows this. Yet, without intervention, this is going to happen.

The taking of Gaza and building Israeli settlements will be achieved.

Knowing the humanitarian disaster that is unfolding, and the Western world does nothing to calm the situation. In fact, it encourages people in Britain to wave Israeli flags. WTF ?

Are we living in a civilised world where civilian casualties are just part of the body-count of warfare, at whatever cost ?
To me , it is Ethnic cleansing and land-grabbing. with a Hamas cherry on the top.

At least with Arab countries now being more vocal, we might see some thought given before more military action.

Agree all this but the final line is key. The behind the scenes diplomacy right now must be intense. Hamas cannot be the new Gabriel Princip.

Has Blinker been to Qatar yet? Isn't the Hamas' leader been given sanctuary in Doha currently? Well, we gave them the World Cup so they must be friends.

There is even a Hamas office in Istanbul. Talk about polarisation of global positions.

Qatar fund a lot of anti Israeli movements.

I am currently watching David Lammy being interviewed by Trevor Phillips. It is appalling that such an untalented MP can be a front bench spokesman for the HM Opposition. Just parroting the 'Israel has ever right to defend themselves' mantra. He even unwittingly admitted that Israel became a state because of the holocaust.

Lammy is an idiot tryng to get in to get elevated and will say anything.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

Rather intelligently, though no doubt under considerable pressure, the Israeli government have resumed the water supply to the south of the Gaza Strip in order to encourage the Gazans to clear the northern part of the strip.

That's what I'm hearing anyway.

It also looks like Hezbollah are in the fight now.....How much remains to be seen.

Secretly, Israel may consider the hostages already dead and therefore they can focus on eliminating Hamas. However there is an issue in that some of the hostages hold dual nationality and therefore there is probably pressure from the UK and others for Israel to prioritise rescuing them. Not easy.
Hamas are masters at tunnel technology and there could be a whole complex beneath the Gaza Strip. There was also an interesting article that Boris Johnson wrote on the Mail Online which was very informative; he remarked that EU and others had given millions in aid, part of which was piping for water/sewage etc. Apparently Hamas dug up some of it to use as rocket launchers, so it’s pretty obvious that their primary aim is attacking Israel rather than caring for their own citizens.

(Username suddenly appears to be a bit unfortunate!)

The Hamas families will not be in Gaza. They will be in the posh bit near the coast, out of harms way. Hence why Hamas don’t give a toss about the people there. What you see on the news is a tiny part of Palestine. The ‘Croydon’ area compared to coulsdon.

As with the House of Saud....often through charity/Mosque proxies...Mind you the western security agencies fund all sort of disruptive stuff all around the world.

The average Joe just wants to get on with life without these hubric control freaks blowing us all to hell.

The mainstream rarely deem to tell the public about the double facing nature of a lot of what goes on.

They just lie about the morality being black and white so that the public back them.

As was said in ancient Greek debate: the 'truth' is what the powerful say it is.

Whereas the more nuanced know that outside of physically factual events, much of 'truth' is perspective and narrative....whether we agree with it or not.

'Growing unease in Britain over the horrific plight of Palestinians as Israel retaliates against Hamas aren’t reflected by the Prime Minister and the Labour leader'.

Indeed.

Israel are entirely justified in trying to eradicate the Hamas scum. I hope they succeed. All of this has been engineered by Iran, who if they join in, will also be defeated.
