As you're close, why not go and watch a Gillingham game or two, chat to their fans about their ambitions and priorities. It won't cost much, but you'll get an insight into how they envy where Palace are in the league.

Maybe then you'll stop whinging.

Or he could go to Brighton, sit in a new stadium, watching great football, In a European home tie against ajax and talk to their fans about ambitions and priorities.

Plus Gillingham owners don't mouth off about the huge income and sponsorship deals you can generate being a London club or the huge catchment area and being a sleeping giant.

Even Roy was saying we're three players short last week before, apparently, changing his mind.

Roy didn't change his mind but he acted diplomatically when he realised that needing a winger and striker all he was given was yet another central defender, another keeper and a young kid who could well be the next Sorloth for all we know.

Any manager other than faithful Roy would probably hand in their notice today

Needed two full backs, a winger and a striker, so we bought a goalkeeper and a centre half, leaving the club with 4 keepers and 5 centre backs.

I really do not understand the clubs plan for any sort of progression. One senior winger, two strikers, 1 left back, 2 elderly right backs and all of the teams likely to be around us in the league (with the exception of Luton) strengthening like crazy..

2 or 3 injuries to our starting 11 and we could end up on one of Roy’s notorious 7 or 8 game winless streaks and be in the bottom 3 in the blink of an eye.

Our forward line is Championship standard at best but at least our debt is manageable!

With our squad so lacking in players what is your opinion of where we will finish in the league?

Hopefully one day pepole will wake up and smell the coffee. It’s embarrassing the position we’re in with players what parish is doing with palace is no better than what Mike Ashley did with Newcastle and Karl oyston did with Blackpool. Slowly sucking the life out the club and playing with fire. The sooner he has gone the better taken us as far as he can go. They day the weasel sells his stake in the club the club will be in a better place. I hope he gets as much stick from fans as possible. Will probably be to late by the time a lot of pepole wake up

Let's see now...Mike Ashley said in 2021 ''I am just not wealthy enough to own Newcastle," said Ashley two years ago. "I genuinely believe you need £1bn. People say £500m but I'd bet anyone that these days you can't do it for that. Not to compete at the very top."

In July last year it was reported that Ashley is the 59th wealthiest person in the UK with an estimated fortune of just short of £3 billion.

Karl Oyston and his father Owen, were both found guilty of asset stripping Blackpool FC while in the Premier League in 2010/11.

Your comparison of those people to Steve Parish is risible.

Parish doesn't get everything right, but he doesn't get too much wrong.

Critisise him all you like, I'm not trying to change your mind, but your post is wide of the mark.

Probably the most irritating thing of the whole window is yet again we have failed to identify loan targets. If we have as little money as everyone on here I’d making out then why aren’t we utilising loans?

Sinisterra (some would argue the perfect Wilf replacement) has gone on loan to Bournemouth with Anthony going the other way (both decent wingers). We could have almost certainly offered JRS in a similar style deal, but we are not creative enough for that. Djed Spence, the attacking full back that we were apparently linked with, also gone on loan.

It honestly feels like the only club we do loan deals with is Chelsea and now that avenue has closed down because we wouldn’t sell them Olise and they have got the hump with us.

We obviously tried for a loan to buy with Ekitike but a look at PSGs position showed that they wanted the cash up front, so we should have moved on to a plan B. But of course there was no plan B.

We are so lightweight in the marketplace and yet some continue to praise Dougie like he’s the next Messiah.

All in all this has been a terrible window and let’s hope it doesn’t come back to bite us in the backside.

The full back situation has already been debated at length. But, to reiterate, when you have a budget you have to assess and prioritise how you spend it. You and I may see the full back positions as in desperate need of an upgrade, but clearly Palace don't.

I'm not going to pretend that I foresaw major expenditure on another goalkeeper, but given Guaitas departure, we needed another senior player in that position.

Lerma is already proving to look like a shrewd signing.

Holding is an upgrade on Tompkins as cover at centre back.

I'm as disappointed as anyone that we didn't land a striker. Ekitike apparently wanted to come but PSG only wanted to sell and not loan. So the question is could we have used the Henderson money to pay for Ekitike....I think that money had already been committed on the assumption that we could get Ekitike on loan - who knows ?

On a positive note, we still have Franca to come into the equation and Olise. And we didn't lose ( as I thought we surely would ) one of our major playing assets.

Based on the improvement of teams around us, I would say, 13th to 17th. If we get a bad run of injuries, that low estimate could drift into the third relegation spot.

Who is "Palace" I wonder. Is it the manager who was quoted as saying that he needed several more players or did the chairman decide what was needed and the priorities.

But we still have Tompkins and even extended his contract. Do we really need five central defenders?

It was known for a while that PSG wouldn't loan Ekitike but would only sell him to avoid problems with FFP and why were we negotiating a loan with the player without speaking to his club as that's exactly what we were complaining about Chelsea doing with Olise

Drivel of the week. If you bothered to read my posts you will see that I didn't wish to comment on the transfers until the window closed as I was certain that Parish was going to surprise us.

If my glass is half empty yours is full of piss
