england remind me of early coppell Palace.. you score 3, we'll score 4.
Defence is horrific, but we're getting away with it.
Attack , anything possible.
going to need a spot of luck vs french & take our chance when it happens.

My thoughts as well Mbappe must be licking his lips at the thought of playing Maguire and Stones.

It was a good performance against Senegal but the back four still insist on play silly buggers with the ball around our penalty area and almost got caught out once or twice.

I hope we beat France but I predict that we will give them a goal because Stones or Maguire either dwell on the ball or misjudge a back pass.

I used to play cricket against his Dad's club Downham and Bellingham. Steve Gritt and Colin (Paddy) Powell played for them.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

It's a big worry as we do look weak at the back and very tentative as a team on for periods of play in most games. We do offer a goal threat though, and so no result would surprise me really. There will be no easy games going forward, fingers crossed for the lads.

It was Bellingham who seemed to kickstart England. What a prospect!

With him Palace could go places, plus another eight players or so.

The centre looks weak against mobile forwards but France have Giroud who isnt . Walker didnt give Mbabbe a kick in the CL . We have the tools to cope with France

I dont think there is much between the teams though , It will be who performs on the day .

I agree this.

France is set as the benchmark; but did they not lose to Tunisia? They will not rest key players this time; but all that faff about the depth of the French squad - not this world cup with their injuries.

They have Dembele, Mbappe and a better head coach; we have better prep and a MUCH better bench.

France will win the first half. We will win the second and the match so long as we clip the French wings (and can survive the last 15 minutes after Walker is sent off).

That sounds about right.

I have the feeling it will be a 'small margins' game. As to what where and when those small margins will occur is guesswork. Either that, or one team will need to either 'turn up' or 'melt' far more than the other.

I'd like all 11 lions to play well though

Although Maguire, Stones and Pickford are gonna have to have great games against Mbappe and Dembele.

TBH YT I think everybody just needs to give '110%'. You know, apparently there is 'a good feeling in the dressing room', the 'lads' are 'all up for it', according to the 'gaffer', and we just need to 'stick to the game plan', 'do what we do best' and hopefully with 'a bit of luck on our side' we will emerge victorious. Something like that.
