No matter how well he does I don't see him coming back to Palace even if Roy wants him.

His time with us couldn't have been very happy so why would he want to return. He can either stay in Turkey or hope his move to Germany comes off.

Agree,a fantastic performance on the International stage should only encourage his many admirers, including Leipzig to make a move for this talented forward who for whatever reason, was never given much of a chance at Palace.

Sorloth narrowly missed scoring a hatrick in an International, not in some minor Turkish league.
Talk about the one that got away.

The whole episode of the Sorloth saga is nothing short of comedy gold.

I said to give him a chance but we and the club didnt give him enough chance. This is another fine mess that we will have to chalk up as just that.

Has anyone considered that he himself requested a move away for reasons other than roy not playing him regularly. Maybe he felt under too much pressure.

Some people on here don’t seem to be able to consider anything other than their negative stand point.

He had plenty of time with us and was loaned to Belgian league for a stint and was just as bad there as he was with us, it’s not as if he was given 2weeks and shipped out, there was 18 months from when he signed till when he went to Turkey. There could be a million reasons for why he never made it at Palace and more than likely we will never know the real reason.

Roy signed him so are you going to give Roy the credit for signing such a wonderful player ?

In short, No. Dougie, yes.

Issue which Roy needs to get his head round is undeserved loyalty towards Benteke. An aspiring, talented centre forward's confidence was shot to pieces by being overlooked for a misfiring Benteke.

The rational? We play better as a team with a striker who doesnt score goals. A joke gone sour.

He, Hodgson, himself admitted Sorloth never got a fair crack of the whip. I just hope Dougie brings in another good up and coming striker and NOT Michy Batshuayi.

I cant see Sorloth returning. If i was him, I certinly wouldnt. As for Hodgson, well one of our own has performed a miracle keeping us up... Period.

In an interview last year Sorloth seemed very unhappy he had been completely overlooked.

I seem to remember he had a decent performance vs Man U where we were 2-0 up and failed to make a sub, then he scored a dissallowed goal vs Chelsea before not getting a look in for months.

If you don't play for month of end your match sharpness won't be what it should be and your confidence will be very low. No other young player seemed to be getting a chance either, so there was no reason for Sorloth to have any hope of getting a chance.

I think if he wouldn't come back to the club with Roy at the healm.

Hodgson has had an excellent tallent, and refused to use him, again.

Fully agree with you and our loss will be probably Leipzig's gain.Very bad decision by Roy and his coaching staff as Sorloth's high scoring performances speak for themselves.

Agreed. Hodgson has overlooked young talent in favour of seasoned professionals. The only reason Aaron Wan Bissaka got a chance is because he threatend to leave.

With the over due emphasis being shifted to getting in young players now, I hope this changes.
