Well said. Bloke's a WUM. Difficult not to react to his constant negative jibes. Absolutely NOT.

Whilst of course I was delighted to beat Tottenham one has to put the win in perspective given the relative strengths of both teams. Our weakened team beat their weakened team so I cannot take too much from the win. Looking at the strikers, Benteke is back from injury and when did he last score ? Wickham has scored but with his recent injury woes there is always the chance he could break down yet again.Ayew has been far from effective and until recently was being pilloried on here.Sako hit a bit of a 'Purple patch' last season over a month period but overall what has been his contribution to the cause ? There wasn't a great demand for his services in the summer and I suspect WBA supporters haven't been too critical of their club for allowing him to leave. Of course I hope these strikers come good and fire us to safety but I suspect quite a few of our supporters might not be so confident that they will make positive contributions. Edited by Willo (30 Jan 2019 10.40am) Keep positive, you haven’t started your yearly we’re doomed posts yet.

Edited by Willo (30 Jan 2019 10.40am) I agree- if we are to rely on the 3 strikers that we currently have it could spell trouble. Yes, we have 3 fit strikers (currently) but if you have to take into consideration the injury record of both Wickham and Benteke. Add to the mix the poor scoring records and the reliance on these 3 is very much a gamble. I think we can agree that although we would probably all like a little more creativity from midfield, we dont seem to have had a huge issue actually creating opportunities its the converting of the chances that has alluded us and which has contributed to our current lowly standings. If we are only to bring one more player in it surely has to be a goalscorer.

In terms of a 'Goalscorer' these cost money and our financial constraints limit our options.Javier Hernandez is a good finisher in the penalty box but he is out of the equation.Looking at the Championship, Teemu Pukki,Neal Maupay and Che Adams have scored goals but they won't be coming as they won't be Free or would be allowed to come on loan. Not heard of any interest in them to-date. I wondered about RLC as a possible loan as another poster alluded to.

Edited by Willo (30 Jan 2019 10.40am) Wether other clubs fear them or not, with 4 strikers, plus the zaha/townsend option, I can't see us bringing another striker in this window. Better to wait until the summer, when ayew will leave and I doubt we will extend sakos contract...

With goalkeepers,Dann,Benteke and Wickham returning from in some cases, long term injury, would not be surprised if there were no more additions until the Summer Window in an effort to balance the books.

Deadline day approaches, hopefully we will have at least one good signing to keep us happy. May have a bad signing too - although many would argue we already have.

As I said in the last post, I think we should highjack Wolves’ deal for Sardar Azmoun.
