It is great to see that he is finally showing why we bought him. I think Roy sees him as a midfielder and I can see him replacing Luka he will break up play, take free kicks plus give us much better ability to counter attack with his passing skills

Riedewald was once very, very highly rated and thought to have great potential. Still only 23. I'm quite excited.

Perhaps it’s just me but I feel Hodgson is still unsure about Jairo and sees him as a stopgap.
In his press conference he even seek to take credit for Jairo’s performances as Jairo was apparently a reluctant left back and Hodgson says he had to convince him to play there.
For me Jairo is one of our most talented passers of the ball and should have had a far greater involvement in the past.
The fact that he hasn’t is an indictment of Roy’s inherent distrust of skilful players.
When the injured players return unfortunately I have no doubt that Jairo won’t even make the bench again.

I think sacked FDB bought him.

We should be finding room for Mayer and Riedwald, Build a squad around these types of players for next season who are technically very good.

Meyer is far too lightweight. A cameo at the end of a game we are chasing is all he is good for.
I like Riedwald's confidence and keenness to get forward but he can be a bit sloppy with his passing and has not got the speed to go by players. However he has youth on his side and may be the best on team at delivering a dead ball (admittedly not saying much) so definitely think he has a future in midfield

Agreed a bit lightweight but would fit in with the right balanced midfield. Not comparing, but messi and Hoddle to name a couple were not exactly bulky.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Perhaps, just perhaps we could have found our Cabaye replacement. Meyer unfortunately hasn’t got the tenacity but Jairo has - and with the passing and technical skills required.

I still can’t understand what he did wrong after that Man City game but he’s played himself back into contention, hopefully in the centre and not on the wing where Roy likes his flair players!

My man of the match yesterday.

Showed controlled aggression in winning the ball and looked comfortable when in possession.

He seems to be growing into the role at left back.

If he can keep on improving and gaining in confidence it will be like having a new signing.
