So here is what your licence fee helps pay for.
As someone said in the comments a posh, champagne socialist extortion racket.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'BBC fake news - Tommy Robinson' by Midlands Eagle Why was the BBC journalist, at around 5am today, frothing at the bit to blame everything that Philip Hammond said in this interview on Brexit? He was fine. She has Rabies. This is one for the fool known as 'Wisbech'.

You are obviously impressed by very little. He just snipped and touched up an article from the Independent. He missed this out from the same article, 'This means that they failed to take into account that the centre has moved, and it's actually much further left than they think it is'. I'm also finding it quite amusing that I'm being given people like David Cameron might appoint as media as evidence for the right. And neo liberals like Andrew Neil.
...you are bang on. The Tories only appoint their communication people from the BBC because the Morning Star guys are all quickly booked up by the EDF.

Could tommy Robinson be about to take down the BBC? I did watch the 12 minutes of this guy. I don't doubt the BBC can be biased, the cutting of film to show Orgreave miners attacking the Police when in fact the Police attacked the Orgreave miners, is a proven example. But there is nothing in this clip, other than a guy mouthing off that the establishment is after him and he is after them. In reality his divisive rubbish helps the establishment all the way to the bank. I look forward to seeing the evidence he puts on his big screens. Will the screen be even bigger than his hero Trump's biggest of the biggest big screens? On Robinson's chosen day in February, Will Tommy's Troopers be watching on their phones thinking "Wow big screens. Biggest of the big. Truest of the true!" Yeah, probably. Even if there are no screens.

Edited by Bill E Pilgrim (12 Feb 2019 11.10pm) Except I think TR might actually be onto something here. The reality is that the BBC is essentially a middle-class protection racket that does promote a socially liberal agenda. Now I don't mind paying up for it because there is enough of its product that I would happily pay for anyway but for a lot of people, it simply is an utter waste of money. And no matter what you think about the BBC, the licence fee is one of the most regressive forms of taxation there is. No other way of seeing it. With the footage that TR has released tonight of boozy lunches on expenses, playing up to peoples worst fears with some justification. In and of itself, the monetary amount is pitiful, but what it represents in terms of this privileged twonk swigging down champagne and bottles of wine at a lunch that serves no purpose, and you do have to ask questions about the wider ethos that enables that to happen. When we are effectively forced to pay for something, be it MP's or BBC employees, people are entitled to expect a degree of frugality. And TR might have hit a vein here that could resonate with a lot of people.

Edited by Bill E Pilgrim (12 Feb 2019 11.10pm) I must say....that was quite an enjoyable post to read. One 'screen' and four 'screens'....now I have a weird compulsion to ask you how big your telly is.
