But even such a keeper would not exactly guarantee clean sheets. Hart was outstanding yesterday and we still scored twice. But Hart has had games where he's been less than outstanding - by all accounts last year in Italy he varied between mediocre and terrible, and look at those two free kicks Leigh Griffiths put past him. (Of course when it's Cabaye he saves it, doesn't he?)

I agree again, getting to be a habit . I do think that a top class keeper may have stopped one or two of the goals that have gone in but not many more than our keepers have.

First goal Cresswell should never of been given so much room out on the left. Didn't he lay on Lanzini's goal last season ? Second goal Dann should of squared up and made a challenge on Ayew than allow him to move about 20 yards up the pitch. Both strikes were taken well by the Spammers.

No argument from me. I think our defending at times has been little better than Sunday league standard.

Watch Tomkins turn away from Ayew's shot. He needs to be shown this in front of everyone. A big centre half worried a ball might hit him. And that's after Dann doesn't make the challenge he has to.

Pair of pussies. We rarely score and these gutless fortune earning defenders can't tackle. Yep, survival is certain.

As we saw with Lindelof the other day, defenders are loathe to make a challenge in such situations in case the attacker gets past them and then they are out of the game and the attacker has a free run at goal.

Defenders tend to drop off to get the attacker thinking and in the hope that this allows players to get back and provide cover.

Ayew is left-footed and of course scored a 'Screamer' wit his left-foot.Dann might have been better pushing him on to his weaker right-foot.

Noticed on the TV that Tomkins turned his back when Ayew shot so perhaps he could have done better.

Just read this. They were both pathetic again and need their Sakho babysitter next to one of them to hold their hand. Leaders? Captain? Don't make me laugh.

I have already commented on Dann and his defending that led to the goal.
He can be turned inside out very easily but this is probably true of a lot of tall central defenders.
As someone once remarked to me about a large defender in local football "I have seen milk turn quicker".

Ward got drawn into the middle alongside the centre-backs.One could argue that we had bodies back when the cross came in so perhaps could have cleared it but one can forensically analyse every goal and come up with negatives.

Ward had no need to be drawn inside. He should've been further to the right and enough to make ball holder think whether it's a good pass or not rather than know it was. It was pretty similar to last season when he had a field day v Pardew's basic tactics in a back 5 before being sent off. This season without a striker we suit playing against a 3/5, just before playing Spurs and then probably loads of 4 at the back teams.

It's sh1t, full stop. He's a £65k a week defender. It may be more if he gets parity with Sakho.

Survival a certainty then. Can't defend vs the sh1tter teams.

We should have won yesterday based on chances and we're playing some decent football. The whole team has been guilty of not being clinical in front of goal this season.

Benteke's finishing had also let us down up until his injury. He's also a lazy git who doesnt stretch defences enough unlike Andros and Wilf.

Plus point for me is we look far less one dimensional. CB will obviously give us more options and hopefully goals when he returns. Main place we're missing him is defending corners IMO.

Sorry for not being elated forever more after another Zaha show due to some of our players being inept or just a fortune paid bunch of pussies that cannot cope without their babysitter. Unless they start performing like a mid table team throughout the match then we won't reach that form to pull clear. That's the reality. Turning their backs to the ball? 6' 2'' defenders fighting against relegation as well. There's a lot of work yet to be done.

Your not the only one. The guys negativity and obsession with SP is tiresome.
