It may be nonsense , but that is how it is , so that is how the goal today must be judged.

Speroni could have done better with the goal, but that is 'keeping, it's super tough and people have much higher expectations than with other positions. What I do find a little ridiculous is the obvious bias towards Speroni over Hennessey. Hennessey has let in goals of a similar standard to that one and has been slaughtered on here for it. Palace won't have the best 'keepers and they'll let in goals we feel they should have done better with. But we should at least be consistent in out criticism.

If he had tipped it over it would have been classed as a "wonder save" but sadly it missed his fingertips by centimetres.
I don't blame him for that.
I blame our ridiculous defending at set pieces whereby Merino who is around 6'3" tall is being marked by JM who is 4"-5" shorter.
The right people need to pick matching players to mark and last week v Chelsea was a prime example - tall midfielder marked by a short arse (by comparison) of ours - why?
Our set piece defending is poor and needs sorting out.

Would we be quite so bothered with this if the other 10 players in the team had contrived to score us a goal in 90+ minutes?

That’s a fair point - any goal scored against us results in a defeat. We are relying on teams not scoring against us to get a point. Probably doesn’t matter who is in goal, but in truth Hennessey’s height would have saved that shot?
