The 5 mill dollar question is, can we make it another 450min? Originally posted by Stirlingsays
450 minutes on the pitch without scoring. Mostly against the weakest teams in the Premiership. These players deserve criticism.....not that it would do that much good coming from the fans.....But for the money this lot are on, this is frankly way way under performance. If you include the end of last season we've scored in 1 of our last 10 PL games, and have now gone over 9 hours without a goal. Can't believe how bad we are. Just simple things like failing to push out and harry them when they have the ball. Every time we got it they were in our faces. We seem to lack pace, desire, talent all over the pitch. We spent about £20m on two left-backs in the January window and they're both awful.

Not even out of September and I just want this season to be over, with no more embarrassment. I've accepted relegation already because, regardless of what we all said at the start of the season, we ARE the worst team in the Prem, by a sizeable margin (despite in theory not having the weakest squad). We seem to have given up any thought of attacking. When we were 1-0 down with 20 minutes to go we should have thrown everything into attack.

Just back from the game. New manager but same same old crap. The players either have no confidence or probably pace to run and carry the ball forward hence, the umpteen number of back and side passes. We rely too much on Benteke's head but he got no service. We need a second striker and a new captain.

I know he's good in the air, but needs to do more..

I know Lee screwed up last week, but bringing Sakho on and playing him out wide was beyond belief?

Perhaps, with that sort money we could have got two very good Championship strikers who could do no worse.

He scored roughly a goal every two games when he was there - and that's because he put in some effort! Edited by Pigglelet (16 Sep 2017 4.32pm)

How many games did it take Sam before we started moving upwards? In a way the next 4 games should be used like pre-season friendlies as wherever they came in the season we would be thinking no points today. By the time Roy has the players doing things how he wants the more winnable games will be on us. As some one said this is Palace this is how we do it. November and December must be used to source the players we need for next year and SP MUST be looking long term in terms of new buys. We can and will survive.
Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course). |
