Tribal Football are reporting this:

"Crystal Palace are making a late move to beat Stoke City to the signing of Bruno Martins Indi.

Having spent last season on-loan at Stoke from Porto, the Holland defender is prepared to return to the Brit.

De Telegraaf says after months of negotiations, the two clubs have settled on an €8 million fee. Stoke have negotiated down Porto from their original €14m valuation.

Palace boss Frank de Boer has also made contact and urged Martins Indi to consider a move to Selhurst Park.

However, the defender's priority remains a return to Stoke."

Another one bites the dust .....BREAKING NEWS

Stoke City are close to completing the signing of defender Bruno Martins Indi from Porto in a cut-price deal, according to Sky sources.

Last month, it looked like Crystal Palace were favourites to sign him, even though he spent last season on loan at the Bet365 Stadium - Stoke pulled out of negotiations, because they weren't prepared to meet Porto's demands for a fee over £10m.

Now, we've been told the two clubs have shaken hands on a price of around £7.25m, and Martins Indi could sign for Stoke within the next few days.

Doesn't the fact that they are offering him to Stoke for £7.25m suggest that we don't need another left sided centre back. If Stoke and us were still interested then they wouldn't be offering him at a "cut price".

Also has a weakness in the air which for a CB doesn't inspire confidence!

It makes me wonder if we were ever actually in for him.

Do you think his agent might have created the rumour to try to get Stoke to pay the extra few million?

Could be another twist to this yet not saying he's coming to us mind.....19:08
STOKE STEP UP MARTINS INDI CHASE

Stoke are racing against time to try to complete the signing of defender Bruno Martins Indi in time for him to be eligible to play in their opening fixture against Everton, Sky sources understand.

The Porto centre back still hasn't flown to England to complete a medical and the legal formalities of his transfer - though we've been told the Potters are still confident the deal will be done.

A £7m fee has been agreed with Porto.
