You need a f****** excellent reason for taking McArthur off unless the game is completely over. You don't put another striker on for a midfielder of that quality when you're coming under the pressure.

I'm now even more perplexed by the continuing misadventures of Zeki Fryers. He is apparently not good enough to ever start a game in place of the struggling Kelly, yet he is fine to come on and play out of position as a winger because...acually I can't even think of a reason why.

Cabaye had loads of the action in midfield tonight, much better from him. Absolute shocking substitute from Pardew , why the hell go for a goal at the end when we haven't done very well at it all game. Should of kept it defensive at the end gone for a point. Every week I do think pardew is too attacking minded at the wrong times.

Agreed. I really liked the way our midfield showed for the first half or so. I actually feel pretty positive about the way we played.
