Some stupid long punts and poor passes under no presure that has to stop. Punchoen is hit and miss in the same game, so much better higher up the pitch. Benteke is class and will keep us safe like he did for Villa if he stays fit. Stoke will be much harder i hope Cabaye is back to give us a stronger midfield.

No - not imo as I argued in the previous post.

Finally got to watch the game. I think we just edged it but only just. Our midfield play was ponderous at times. We're along way from being a possession based team - not that I think that's a bad thing necessarily. I would like to think Lee playing in the hole WITH our first choice central midfield would improve our play but I'm not sure. But I am sure that Wilf had a good game - as did Jim Mac and Steeeeve.

Things looking up with several players due to come back.

A poor team, that just lost its first premiership game, in its first season in the top flight for a long time...

some people do look for their misery.

IMO they are a poor premier league team at the moment. A draw with Stoke and WBA a 2-1 win and loss to us and Sunderland is not a good return for those games just like our four points is poor from our games.

There really is no such thing as a Poor Premier league team.Everyone talks about how hard it is to get out of the Championship for a reason and all those coming up have spent a few quid to strengthen.Boro will win their share at home and chances are it will be against the teams in the lower half of the table so its a massive result in that context.

The difference between the bottom half of the premiership and the top of the championship is exceptionally narrow. The championship is such a tight competition, that its created very much a proving evolutionary environment, where you get very lean clubs, with low costs coming up with very good players.

Not as poor as us, which means we did well?

I would not go that far. Any win away is a good result change that to great against a top team and they may become that in time.

They were undefeated till they lost to us, and are still a point above us, not sure how sitting in the top half of the table qualifies a team as "poor".

Yes against Sunderland Stoke and WBA and lose to us four out of form teams. How many points would you want from those games, five is not good.

As we finished last season at the bottom of the Premiership and Brighton at the top of the Championship are you suggesting that there wasn't much difference between our two teams
