Disagree, I saw some decent enough balls coming into the box last year, I'm not talking about them flying from all angles, every few minutes like when we were in the championship, but enough for us to score more goals, if the forwards were of decent enough quality. We may only get 2 or 3 chances in a game, especially against decent opposition, but those chances need to be taken. Agree. Adebayor should have scored more. He never shook off the rust he had and the year out at Spurs probably ruined him. There was a good player in there somewhere and were he 2 years younger he would have been a good player to keep around. But I harbour no ill will, he came in and did a job when we needed bodies, wasn't good enough and moved on. Still amazes me that not log ago we had an aging Steffan Iverson, and Jermaine Easter, now we are too good for Adebayor and have one of the best young strikers in the league playing for us.

Would be pleased with this. Exactly the type of player we should have gone for on 31 Aug instead of faffing about all day on Wilshere.

Fingers crossed. This will be the vital 'missing link' in our transfer window as it's not much good signing quality strikers if the service is missing - as it has so obviously been during 2016. It looks like AP is sincere in wanting to change our style - and not before time as our penchant for hoofed clearances and crosses into the area is sterile and easily countered. Hopefully, we will now get some thoughtful through balls along the deck to make a change form the aerial tactics. Pity Gayle has gone as this is the service he didn't get and which he thrives on.

Gives us an option when playing "the bigger sides" to have 3 proper midfielders (Flamini,Cabaye and McArthur) and then also to rotate one of them with Punch and CYL in games where we're expected to do a bit more! Great signing!

Agree with your points in relation to a change of style but this would have to mean surely Cabaye moving further forward with JMac and Flamini further behind ? However he might just be a substitute for Jedi who was in and out of the team last season. However the guy is versatile as already noted so brings in a bit more. In fact I seem to remember him playin in the Arses defence one season whilst being a midfielder and getting a shed load of points on fantasy league for me. Solid signing.

I see Remy as a replacement & upgrade for Gayle, similar style of play.
