The main reason why you can't vote before 18 is because you don't know your arse from your elbow. I'd raise it to 21 if I could.
Admittedly, age is no guarantee of wisdom but it helps.

Old people are much undervalued in Britain. In other cultures they are held in high esteem.

Seems a little incongruous to me to attack the outers if you didn't actually vote - and everything I've read suggests that the turnout was quite high.
