When are the Labour voters on this thread going to have the "balls" (excuse the pun) to admit it on here. According to this thread none of you lefties are voting Labour as they are too far right. Why are they polling so high then?
People want to vote smart and for policies rather then personalities but lack the imagination or balls to do anything other than vote for the most likely party to keep the Tories out.
All the anti-Semites are voting Labour, and not National Socialist parties. Also, let's not forget that Ed Miliband once looked funny eating a sandwich.

I am thinking of voting UKIP.
1 I am still "anyone but the Tory scum", at heart, so it splits the Fascist vote. My biggest problem is that I am not "prematurely bald", I don't like the idea of arm ache from lifting my arm in the air all the time, or all that goose-stepping, you might as well be doing the hokey cokey.
Oh yeah... 2 days in since I asked and still no one owning up to voting Labour.... LOLZ Edited by Hoof Hearted (18 Apr 2015 10.31am)

So you don't think that there are any rich career politicians on the left who espouse socialism and yet don't live by their supposed principles and get a kick out of playing Che Guevara? Probably are, just like I am sure there are all kinds of people who vote for the right, but support concepts like welfare and the NHS.
Leaving aside the fact that the concepts of 'left' and 'right' do, of course, cover a huge amount of conceptual ground it is stretching it a bit to describe the British 'right' as being anti NHS or Welfare. That's a small section of the right, hardly anything like most of it......It's like saying that Labour want to get rid of Trident.....A section do....But most people who vote Labour most certainly don't. Since the introduction of the NHS in the 40s we have had mostly conservative governments yet spending has continued to rise....mostly under those governments. This is the same reality since the explosion in welfare costs since the seveties. The 'right' are definitely more conscious of 'squaring the circle' in terms of affordability.....Whereas most of the gormless nation just imitate Oliver and hold their hands out for more.....'Please state, take responsibility for our lives'. The state, is the taxpayer, and those morons given the task of directing those large funds should ensure that the money 'works' for its citizens. I believe in an unwritten contract between state and citizen. But it cuts both ways and unfortunately in our modern culture the number of people with their expectant hands out has grown more than those willing to 'give'. The 'me, me, I'm an individual' generation doesn't neatly fit the old concepts. Edited by Stirlingsays (18 Apr 2015 12.03pm)

Edited by Stirlingsays (18 Apr 2015 12.03pm) It's a bit rich picking someone up on a generalisation and lack of nuance concering the right when you generalise and bang on about the left and lefties constantly. Easier to type it to a political opposite isn't it eh. In fact, in the past, when I have talked of the left...(believe it or not, this point has previously been made) I've made it quite clear that I'm referring to the ideologically committed left.....Not the majority of those who actually vote Labour.

I'm sure that's what you think you do, but that's half the problem. But then it's impossible for anyone to 'completely' get away from simplifying others positions.

The 'lefty', 'righty' thing isn't that big a deal. People can just post rebuttals or refinements to the description or perceived generalisation.....Pretty much, how I just did. Debate, being the point I suppose.
