Don't do away with it, but retain it ONLY to recognise, thank and honour people for charitable or other unpaid work. I can see no justification whatsoever for bestowing honours on individuals for success in business, sport, entertainment, etc., for which they will already have been handsomely remunerated.

Yeah, that will suffice!

Interesting Farage declares war is over. I wouldn't use those words but he is basically happy with the deal. Let's see what the ERG think of it. Predictably Nicola Sturgeon isn't happy and it will be interesting to see how the Scots feel say in 5 years time. Maybe they won't be so keen on re-joining.

On LBC yesterday evening he was mocking the rumoured deal, bewailing the PM's failure to protect our fishermen, and sarcastically praising Number 10's skill at using Christmas to produce a feel-good factor to offset disappointment over the deal.

I heard that on LBC as well. Talk about a U turn. What’s happened there? Boris slipped him a few quid to fall into line??

I am now officially convinced that Starmer has been a Brexit double-agent all along. First of all his plays the PIVOTAL role in ensuring Labours policy on Brexit in the 2019 election is so utterly bonkers it is guaranteed to mean Labour not only lose but lose badly. And now, says he will vote for the deal that finally takes us out of the wretched institution. Superb. Delicious trolling that I am in complete awe of. The man needs elevating to the Lords with no delay. A true Brexit Hero!

SNP do make me laugh accusing the government of throwing their spud farmers under the bus by leaving single market whilst demanding independance from the Union where the spud farmers export more to.

This is going to affect the livelihoods of literally dozens of Scottish Farmers. I'm really enjoying watching faux intellectual remainers squealing as they try and find reasons to explain why this is the terrible outcome that they have been preaching to everyone about for over 4 years.
