I can't help but think that if Benteke wanted to play for palace, the deal would've been cemented by now. I also can't see Berahino wanting to move to us given his ilk - he is probably looking for a bigger club with European competition involvement.

Bony could be a contender otherwise I believe that we are caught targeting non Marquee names who can really graft for us. Have mentioned Snodgrass (Hull City) before who scored the winner yesterday against Leicester. Possibility? Who else could we REALISTICALLY target who'd relish the opportunity of playing for The Eagles as opposed to taking the golden shilling?

Yesterday proved that we need a top playmaker as much as we need a proven goalscorer. I like Wickham but he isn't a proven goalscorer but a good player with a lot of potential. But he would have scored more goals if he ever got to see the ball in a goalscoring position but he doesn't. Pardew should have spent pre-season instructing Wilf on how to cross the ball and do it well. His crosses either don't beat the first man or go out for a throw-in on the opposite side of the pitch. Not looking good for us.

I think it's amusing that everyone on here slaughtering Pardew and Parish because we haven't got benteke over the line. Just because the papers say certain things it doesn't mean it's gospel, I mean Benteke might be asking for 150k pw and his agent might want 5 mil on top of the 30 mil Liverpool want. The truth is no one will truly ever know what's going on behind the scenes. One thing I am sure of though is that parish and Co have done a great job so far. My wish is for everyone to be just a little more supportive, that's all.

I couldn't believe the reports today in the Sunday paper (I know the Sunday Express) and Croydon Adverister) that we might be interested in Andy Caroll if the Benteke move falls through. Oh god please help us. What is the thinking on this playing Caroll and Wickham just behind the treatment room.
This Benteke sage is now getting out of hand. As much as I would of liked a striker of Benteke quality at the club this sage should have been dropped weeks ago liverpool are playing games I get the impression that they don't really want to sell to a premiership rival stalling any way they can waiting for deadline day, hoping that some foreign club will come in at the last minute.
