Is Mr Hodgson the main problem or is the aged squad simply not up to the rigours of the PL any more ?

Today it would have probably been very different if we had Zaha,Schlupp and Tomkins in the team.

The first 20 minutes were among the most shambolic of any Palace teams performances in 55 years of watching them. Effectively game over after 12 minutes.

Too many past it players that instead of playing for a new contract look resigned to moving on or being moved on. It's sad to see the likes of Scott Dann now turning in such woeful performances having been such a reliable player for us in the past.

People will be clamouring even more now for Parish to sack Hodgson. If he does, then who to bring in while the season is still in play ? I think Dyche had a good view of the size of the problem he would inherit, but could potentially see that as a challenge. I doubt whether he would jump ship at this time however.

Potentially that leaves an interim appointment or someone that is available straight away.

So perhaps not such an easy decision for Parish to make.

There will be about twenty eight thousand posts in this thread by the end of the week. I suspect the sentiments expressed will all be pretty similar too.
A crap performance against Brighton and I dread to think how we'll be feeling. Lucky there's a lockdown. Without it we'd be getting close to Roy Out banners and protests - it's pretty dire currently.

If we were in the bottom three,or just a few points off the relegation zone, I believe that there might have been a temptation to make a change. In our current position I believe the likelihood is that Mr Hodgson will continue to the end of the season.

Time is up - that was quite shocking, something has gone badly wrong in this results business.

That’s what I think, as depressing as that might be. If the gap was to close considerably then that might change, but I don’t think it will.

With only a few weeks before season tickets go on sale for next season, SP will have no option than to part company with RH. It will cost hundreds of thousands in lost sales otherwise.

Being successful in business, I expect him to have been in contact to suitable candidates by now.

If he hasn't, the club is in deeper trouble than even I thought.

I sincerely hope that my assignment is an accurate one.

Why wait until the end of the season, employ a new man now and keep Roy till end of the season as an advisor. We have a perfect opportunity for a new man to take control with competitive games to get these players functioning as a team.
If Roy stays till the summer then the new man will just have friendlies to assess the players and they can be very misleading .

SP wont get rid of Roy we can all keep hoping its not going to happen

The only two ways he is going is if Roy chooses now to walk (not his type of character to do this) or come end of the season he decides to not renew his deal.

The other big issues anyway if he did go who really would want to come to the club.

Its the best time if going to go for a new manager we are safe and with so many out of contract end of season it gives time for someone to come in try somethings without it mattering much plus see which players we should try to renew (SP wont do this he always waits until the last minute to do anything)

I feel these players can do so much better we have talent and i believe they have lost passion for Roys type of football its to slow and negative all the time.

I would rather have AP even when we lost we would at least try to score not still mess around at the back trying to pass around going nowhere not do any subs until 10-5min left even then bring on a like for like player

It’s obvious Hodgson, takes the stick . And something is very wrong .But the team was set up 442 , as was Burnley,. It was told publicly prove you are capable of winning games without Wilf. The answer was woeful.
A complete breaking of trust between them and the people that pay them. It was not a tactical failure it was as fine a demonstration of not being good enough in any area of play you are likely to see, I don’t think that group today would have got the points in a Div 2 match. Much has been made of how good certain players are, or would be if Roy would just let them off the leash, what a load of tosh, if ever that became a non starter it was in the last two games. There was plenty of attacking intent, just no noticeable vitality in that intent. And that on top of conceding three of the easiest goals Burnley, will ever score. This lot look like they know they will not be here next season, one of few excuses, for doing all they can to get their manager sacked, that’s if he doesn’t turn it in,
Apart from any other reason changing manager now is far to late. So hopefully Hodgson won’t turn it in, but if he has blundered, it’s accepting that lot to work with.
And if Hodgson goes by next season, and the playing group has not made massive improvement by then . A new manager may well not be enough to stay in this league, let alone be enough to bring more watchable football.

Advisor on what? He has to go now and we need to get rid of all the ineffective players leeching our finances. They'll soon disappear when they are not drawing over inflated salaries anymore. We have fallen into the trap of the over hyped PL.

Appointing a new manager is sometimes all about timing. If the manager is available who SP and the board want then mow is the time to act .ie Eddie Howe or Lampard ? They might not be available come the end of the season .
