We should carve off part of the country for the lockdown sceptics and conspiracy theorists to roam free as they wish. They're just not allowed access to any hospital treatment. Preferably an island off the west coast of Scotland. Somewhere where there is no internet, no ferries, only sailing boats and the winds are all from the east. So if they tried to escape they would all be blown over into the arms of Trump.

The foreign nurses wasn't my argument. I heard the NHS would fall apart if there weren't immigrants to do the jobs. It was from the people who didn't like the government's new immigration policies. Personally, I agree with restrictions on immigration, and thought that the argument didn't really add up - if decent initiatives, like the one you mentioned, were introduced. We will need to recruit nurses from abroad for the foreseeable future even if every place in every nursing college is full. There just aren't enough places to provide the numbers needed and increasing those places takes a very long time. On top of that the training involves a lot of time on placement and if you increased the numbers the NHS would be swamped by the need to supervise students. It's simple to criticise but very difficult to actually deal with.

You say we need to recruit doctors and nurses from abroad but what about the countries which we take them from?

If you could split the country between those who are willing to go back to work and carry on taking sensible measures and those who wished to stay in until there is a vaccine then that wouldn't bother me particularly even if it's childishly dim. As long as those who worked got to keep their jobs and money they worked for...They would have their own hospitals in their area of the country and their taxes would pay for them. ..I certainly wouldn't be against that at all. As for the general comment about denying treatment to people.....It's even more absurd than splitting the country in two over disagreements on virus policy. I have no problem with foreign doctors/nurses coming to work in the UK but it should not be at the expense of the health care system in their own countries

Virtual Parliament plans approved, about time. Parliament is incredibly backward in using technology which is ridiculous considering the majority of its members live and work outside of London. A lot of Parliament's work can be done via video conferencing especially the committees these are not Star Chambers where people are grilled over an open fire. MPs and witnesses should be able to give evidence online. Many of the sittings in Parliament are run of the meal non controversial topics same thing should apply. I would hope that after a taste of this virtual Parliament they realise that technology can help them manage their work better.
