There didn't seem to be financial restraints earlier in the window when we were going to buy a striker and a young central defender. We also seem to have this clever idea of extending the contracts of players that we would ideally get rid of supposedly to protect the asset but when no-one wants to buy them we have just increased the liabilities I am still hoping that Parish will pull a Sarr out of the hat at 4:45 on Friday whereupon I will forgive him everything

Why would we want Woods in the squad? Or Wickham for that matter. Take them out and we have room for two. Room for any more and we would end up short because there is no way we are going to sign more than two. Maybe Clyne will be the only incoming with Woods leaving on loan I expect.

I don't think fringe players will hold the club back from signing the targets we may or may not have. Woods is very unlikely to get into the squad this year and Wickham would have to make way if we did find the right player in what remains of this second window. All I'm saying is having 25 players doesn't stop you signing more...especially when a few of those 25 of pure crap.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

If we get any sort of fee then great, but I wouldn't be surprised if the club didn't just agree to release him from his contract.

Our business was done early in the window. I’ll be shocked if we sign anyone else now.

Does anyone on the outside really know what's going on with Ferguson? When he and Eze arrived I sourly remarked that one was injured even before he arrived and the other pulled a hamstring as soon as he joined us, and someone sarcastically asked whether I realised that footballers occasionally get injured. Did anyone really expect this injury still to be unresolved in October? Slightly different subject. This thread has lasted 186 pages since speculation started in late July. I think we can all agree that we haven't had a great return on our hopes, fears, frustrations, arguments, anger, etc. But what would we do without it?
