So in touch with the people he failed to win a seat in said last election, securing just 32% of the vote?

How can you say that he is not in touch with public opinion after last nights vote?

The Tories upcoming electoral expenses case shows how scared they were of him and were prepared to use any device possible to stop him getting in.

Appears some of the naive young didn't and a few filmed on tv regret voting leave. Well that's not exclusive to this referendum/election. Often people regret their vote immediately or shorty after. Sometimes due to manifesto details or not delivered or tactical voting gone wrong. Bringing this regret out now is pointless.

People always regret matters. As I have said before, this isn't the last of this and I hold firm to my opinion that the establishment will never let us leave the EU.

Hold fire for a new deal with Brussels, guised as something other than a deal, another referendum and Britain voting for it.

You have f*cked me. My pension will never recover

Your have f*cked my children, the economy will never recover. Dublin will be happy tonight and watch what Edinburgh does. You killed the only goose we had laying decent sized eggs.

You did this for your own gain knowing it would adversely affect a huge proportion of people, especially Londoners like the HOLers.

You used the disenfranchised to get your own way, even though it won't benefit them and will in the end adversely affect them.

The infirm will be in particular jeopardy, funding for the NHS will fall quickly. It's a good job you made money on the exit so you can buy your private health care.

Everything will grind to a halt for years to come, you can forget big infrastructure investments.

This was not a risk it was fair for you to take on behalf of others

For all of these reasons I despise you.

Maybe, when you look back on what you did, you will come to despise yourself too.

Any proof to back this up or are you somehow seeing in to the future?

I'm sure we were only a member of the EEC/EU since the 1970s. Were we in the dark ages until then?

This is gutter politics Maple and you are better than that.

People made Geir own minds up and voted out for many reasons.

When it came to it, the case for the status quo was not strong enough. Blame Cameron and the Remain campaign if you are going to blame anyone, not individuals who made a free choice on the matter.

As I have said, this isn't the end of this. A new deal from Brussels will ensue, a second referendum and Britain voting for that. The establishment will never let us leave the EU, despite all the bluster from Brussels today.

Matt you are a horrible s*** to anyone vaguely left wing, I think it actually puts people off from participating on here. Now it doesn't bother me as it's water off a ducks. But it doesn't really give holmesdale online a good image. If you want to be nasty, go to the bbs.

People like this you mean?...

Oh please. You are condescending to anyone who differs from your view, labelling opponents 'cunds' at every opportunity and generally boring the arse off of all and sundry with your half truths and dubious blogs.

You don't speak for the wider world. You speak for you and that's all you can speak for. Cut out the emperor complex, you are not the King of the internet and have no right to tell me what I can and can't do.

Ha. He wouldn't be on there two minutes before the lefty bully brigade were on his case.

Matt, I am f*cked. How do you think I will feel? I am less bothered about me, I do care for the coming generation which already has to support the unsustainable weight of the earlier generations. I do not accept the case for the status quo wasn't strong enough, that will become clear as our future unfolds. We just had sh*t politicians who failed to explain the real issues and who didn't understand the depth of disenfranchisement of so many people.

Those who were in a good position to know the likely effects but still chose to pursue this path need to carry the burden. Some did it for personal gain, some because of the excitement of the risk. But they knew they were gambling with the future of my children. They did not have that right. Look at how the young people voted, they didn't want to gamble because they had more to lose.

And by the way, boasting about making a pile of money out of the misery of others didn't play well.

I appreciate the implied positive comment on my normal postings, even if we don't always see eye to eye. And I blame Corbyn more than Cameron for the campaign, but Cameron for starting this whole hare running for his own political expediency.

I take a different view with regards the EU. It is inherently corrupt and the EU is neither one thing nor the other. It is not a superstate and not a common market. The result is that we are exposed to vanity and the excesses of an elite who will pour taxpayers money into their pet projects, such as the Euro, which was created off of the back of, at best, dubious financial data. We have voted to free ourselves from this. This is surely better for the country and the next generation.

However, I still believe we never leave the EU. Prepare yourself for a new deal and another vote in the next 12 months. Britain will vote for that.

Agree with a lot of this.

It does annoy me that the generation who will be affected most, who have already seen the removal of free education, greater privatisation of the NHS and the disappearance of affordable housing now have effectively had this decided by many people over the age of 65.

Corbyn has to go now. The experiment failed spectacularly.
