Possibly it is a long time ago. I seem to have it in my mind that there was some debate about scorer but I am probably wrong, again!

You are correct it was Mel Blyth

I believe I once saw him departing 'Kembers' in South Croydon.
I also believe that he once used to be a driving instructor.
He played against us for Southampton in the 1976 FA Cup Semi-Final at Stamford Bridge.

Where is the artist formerly known as Dazza? Come in Dazza, you probably added 25% to this site's web traffic...you can't walk away now.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

It is the model of plausibility that poor Dazza had enough of all the vitriol and ordure which came his way. Most certainly a few grenades were tossed in his direction.
I empathize as I have been on the receiving end of invective!
Perhaps he has received no information to share with HOL.

Wow! I stand corrected apologies. That is a massive wage bill for 5 players

It's probably both! It's only a couple of days now to the end of the window, so probably best simply to wait and see what happens

I said that I would leave it until the transfer window closed before giving my opinion but I am now getting extremely concerned that despite all of the grand plans expounded at the beginning with talk of upgrading the squad and cutting down the average age our transfer window has fizzled out like a damp squib with the signing of one young and admittedly exciting prospect (who will no doubt be nullified by being played out of position) one sicknote who may or may not be up to the job in hand and a striker borrowed from another club.

The exciting young central defender disappeared in a puff of smoke and our defence is still primarily made up of Dad's Army.

I have a horrible suspicion that Parish is trying to put off buying anyone until January in the hope that the lower league clubs will be so desperate for cash that they will accept his usual derisory offers out of pure desperation.

We may have a decent first team squad when all are fit but we are cursed with high injury rates and the cover is still pretty poor.

I am still hoping that Parish may pull a last minute rabbit out of a hat but I have my doubts even though I would love to be proved wrong

100%. You may be right about January but Parish himself has stated he doesn’t like that window and he may have rubbed those clubs up the wrong way with his comments about bailing them out
