Tuchel would have been nice if a pretty long shot. I fancy that we will get MP now. Well whomever it may be SP is doing a very good job of keeping everyone in the dark, except Phil Barber of course

Three weeks today since Sam chucked the towel in. Take out a week for a Spanish holiday, assume a working week of Monday to Friday and that only two candidates are interviewed a day and you could have interviewed 20 candidates once, 10 candidates twice or six/seven candidates three times. By anyone's standards that should be long enough to make an appointment. We will be on our way to HK in four weeks time. Other teams are getting their ducks in a row. We're still fiddling.

Really can't see us appointing a manager this week. Whilst we need to get the right man. Next season preparations should be in place. I'm fed up of being unprepared for the new season. First year we had the Holloway mess in the transfer market, then we had pulis walking 2 days before season. Last summer, we let pardew destroy the dressing room. Whilst there doesn't appear to be the ideal candidate. Why don't we cast the net further. Brendan Rodgers has a premier league pedigree or Laurent Blanc out of work after being sacked by psg.

Well, we are still doing negative business as it were - releasing a lot of players including Ledley and Campbell, which assumes we have ideas in place for better recruits? So when the new manager DOES come in, surely this week?, the decks will have been cleared as it were. The top 2 rumoured candidates (Pellegrino or Galtier) have been used to building good teams on scarce resources, so hopefully will have a good idea of new good players in the european or latin american market?

Perhaps the "ideal candidate" doesn't exist? Recruitment will inevitably involve a degree of compromise and we need to choose the candidate that's closest to our selection criteria and with whom we can agree personal terms. Players are due back for pre-season in the first few days of July and we've got some recruitment to be done. It would be helpful if any new signings could benefit from pre-season, rather than joining after the season's started.

Although I will happily admit that I had never heard of either of them before they were first mentioned in despatches I have been following what has been written and wonder whether Pellegrino has actually been "used to building good teams on scarce resources" or was he a one hit wonder with one good season behind him much as Pardew was in his first season with us.
