Does anyone know what the percentage is that Reading make?

Two separate stories show the release clause being at £55m and that Reading will receive up to £6m of this.

If true, it’s certainly not as much as I would have hoped for but more than enough to get a quality replacement if they don’t think JRS is up to the task.

I thought there was an article where the Reading manager stated there was no sell on negotiated? I will try to find it

Thanks.

I wonder what's going on in the background and who the targets are.

Olise isn't directly replaceable, though we spent a significant part of the season without him.

We will certainly have a war chest as I don't think Guehi will stay but I have hopes for Eze.

To be honest I’ve seen so many stories with so many variations that it’s difficult to know what is true and what isn’t. From memory I don’t recall there being a sell on clause either but the info I picked up was from an article on news now this morning which referred to £6m based on circa £55m sale. Who knows!

I’m glad Chelsea didn’t get him. I find their approach to transfers annoying. They have so many paid friendly journalists spinning for them it’s laughable particularly their attempts to palm off the donkey Madueke to us as a make weight. To try to increase his desirability they have now resorted to saying they’re keeping him.

I think Guehi will stay for another year. Reports saying we will offer him better contract with a buy out clause inserted. If he doesn't sign then will have to sell him next year to get any money.

As for Eze staying I am hopeful as i don't think clubs have much money to spend.

As for Olise's replacement I would like Philogene of Hull City, he looks a special player!!

Apparently the release clause is just £55m. This seems ridiculously low if true.

So many stories. The one I've heard is that the total Release Clause package comprised fee for us, a payment to Reading and a sum for Olise himself. If true, then is the £55m just our share or the total?

I, too, had read that there was no sell-on clause in Olise's original contract with us, but I wouldn't put it past him to have insisted on there being such a clause in the new contract he signed last Summer.
It appears Chelsea pulled out because of the total cost of the package for them.

I am informed that Philogene can operate on both flanks but has a preference for playing down the left.

A player with similar attributes to Olise (But not the level of excellence) is Kwame Poku of Peterborough who was born in Croydon. He is Left-Footed and has a proclivity to cut on to his favoured foot from out on the right, although on occasions he will advance on to the outside and cross with his right foot.

There were those I know who were 'Waxing lyrical' about Poku when he was at Worthing and Colchester signed him from that club.Peterborough signed him from Colchester for a six-figure fee.

I am not suggesting that Poku should be a direct replacement for Olise but he is a young player with real potential.

The Telegraph suggests that the deal with Bayern is there in principle, but ‘it remains to be seen whether they can get it over the line.’
It reminds me of last season when he had all but ‘signed for Chelsea’, only for him to sign a ‘long term( what a joke!)’ bumper new deal with Palace.

Could it be a case of rinse and repeat?

Personally I could do without this circus every window and don’t mind if he goes.
Great player though Olise is, I’d take the likes of Ward every time - a player who is committed to the club and understands the concept of loyalty.

£55m quoted, but if there is a signing to Bayern, it won't be until some time in July? A very good player will come in but remains to be seen if tge new arrival can 'do the business'

IF & it's a big if at the moment, he does go, i hope to god they get it done very quickly, as if/when he gets injured(again) playing for France(this time the Olympics), i want him to turn up in Munich injured & not SE25(like last time).

Click-bait have been doing all they can to sell our players & have got this one wrong(allegedly). Time for JRS & Franca to shine.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.
