Like choosing between vomit and diarrhoea.

Except both are caused by the same virus. Which is the point.

Things later this year, and early next, are obviously not going to get better, hence the dash.

He got a drenching, wonder if there is something extremely nasty in the pipeline.

Probably the economy.

'The polls show no sign of narrowing and insiders believe an IMF warning of a £30bn hole in the finances was weighing heavy'.

Two cheeks of the same bottom, George Galloway has this exactly right.

Plenty of chatter from Tory sources that this July election was called due to an imminent leadership challenge being triggered. If so, then even more proof that Sunaks role has been to pave the way for Starmer to win no matter what. A new Tory leader might not have been able to save the day come and October election but might have prevented a Labour landslide. We are all being played

TIC but Maybe boris was in the running and Sunak was having none of it. boris would be the only one who MAY have prevented that landslide.
Total conspiracy but nothing is off the table in this what if and but moment.

NATO/British troops fighting in Ukraine, H5N1, Climate lockdowns & a catastrophic economic collapse.

I cant remember where I read/saw it but Sunak doesnt want to be a war time PM so is getting out whilst he can.

Callaghan delayed the GE until the last moment and lost. It always smacked of desperation and clinging onto power.

I think Sunak will lose regardless of when the GE was called however better to lose doing something than to lose by doing nothing.

I know what you mean by Boris, but he is soiled goods after Partygate.

I would have thought they should wait until the 18th as England would still be nursing a happy hangover after winning the Euros with an Eze hattrick!

Who knows precisely why 4th July. Everyone is guessing. The only certainty for me is that Sunak will neither be PM nor party leader by the autumn.

I expect a Labour government, no surprise there.

The Conservatives need to retain enough seats to form an opposition that can challenge.

Lib dems who cares.

I hope the Galloway backed candidates do damage to Labour for taking them for granted for years. I will be delighted if Rayner can be unseated.

Otherwise, the country is pretty much fooked now.

Whether Labour or Conservatives in charge won't make much difference next term anyway.

I suspect many in the 25-45 age group will emigrate if they have the chance, further depleting services and skills.

If this sounds hopeless it's because I think it generally is hopeless, slow decline and a quasi return to Europe.

Brexit never had a chance to be a success

The country will further polarise between urban and countryside.

Mass migration of low and non skilled means we are taking net takers from the system who will not generate the tax required to fund themselves
