Guys give it a rest. No one wants to come on this forum to listen to your childish petty argument. I take it you are not children so stop acting like it.

Will people stop talking about Wet Spam, nothing to do with price of fish. I have the feeling Gallagher may be en route to Everton but that is a hunch not an informed assertion by any stretch of the imagination. At the risk of facing Willo’s proverbial ‘shot and shell’ I dare to suggest wherever Gallagher ends up it will prove a far less successful venture than he enjoyed with us last year, even if it is with us. He looked massively out of his league in that Chelsea side. I would also dare to suggest should Eze build upon his promising return, a considerable sum (which Chelsea will undoubtedly demand) for Gallagher may be better spent elsewhere. He was very much a ‘poster boy’ for some of our success last year and I, for one, very much appreciated it, a real injection of life into the team with a few goals in him. To keep that form up consistently for an extended period of time however, I would suggest to be nigh impossible. At this point, you could train a canine to charge around the pitch fouling people. ‘Twas a successful and very much appreciated ’stint’ however the style of football Pat is cultivating here, plus the question over Gallagher’s consistency and ability to improve, lead me to say thank you Conor however we’re moving on.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Maybe a bit harsh on him - I'd have him back but for one reservation; the looming spectre of Sakho. Great loan period, excitement at signing then...

I’m fed up continually be presented with posts from people I suspect to be trolls - we all know who they are. It’s just a waste of my time. When those trolls finally admit they owe their allegiance to another club then the onus is on the site’s moderators to give them the heave ho. If they don’t then people will vote with their feet, which I think is already happening and is a great shame as this is a good site.

I would love Connor Gallagher to become a Crystal Palace player as opposed to a loan player .. I think his enthusiasm and ability would suit the type of team that is clearly developing at Palace .. Maybe in the latter part of last season he ran out of steam .. but by then it was clear that he was a very special talent .. I think the emotion of just how well his season had gone .. his England cap .. and the prospect of going back to Chelsea in such high esteem evaporated his energy .. now the reality has kicked in ..he needs to come back to his real home and be part of the excitement that is evolving here.

I will never deny anyone the right to argue against me on football matters teddy or equally prove me wrong, in fact I’d suggest I provide ample opportunity for anyone to do so! Not asserting it as ‘fact’ or a delusional belief I am absolutely right just my ‘gut’ feeling of course which is somewhat aligned to the ‘Sakho experience’. Just get the feeling some romanticise about CG far too much and any reality will never meet that expectation. I wish him all the best and thank him for his service and whilst I would not discourage his return I just don’t have many eggs in that particular basket, he’s a good little player for sure but don’t hold him in anywhere near the high esteems I’ve done with the likes of AJ, Speroni, Ambrose, Dann or Wilf to name some more recent players pivotal/critical to the team. There are times when I admit I’d like that tenacity and energy to disrupt the opposition’s play and win balls up the pitch etc but is not my preferred ideal of football, if that makes any sense?

I always said that his style of play wouldn’t suit Chelsea and your comment that he looked out of his league against Leeds was spot on. He looked like a rabbit in the headlights for much of the time he was on. I honestly can’t see that changing.

Everton,s problems run deep, the club requires open heart surgery & CG or the Broja lad (or both) would only be sticking plasters on an open wound - especially if Gordon departs too. FYI; In my Opinion, Gordon at £25 m is a sound buy - to pay anything more than that seems fanciful unless you have very deep pockets.

If we play 4-4-2 then there is room for CG in the side. If we play 4-3-3 then CG would likely be at the expense of Doucoure or Eze and I can’t see that happening. CG is an aggressive up front midfielder who likes to disrupt teams who play out from the back. He was like a fish out of water playing deeper for Chelsea so for the same reason, we don’t want him as a defensive midfielder in our team. I think PV prefers to play 3 up top so maybe, CG doesn’t fit our system moving forward. If we are to get the best out of Eze then he needs a free role in midfield and the only way we can do that is to ensure we have two strong and probably defensive minded midfielders around him. That’s just my reading of it, but I think £35m (if that is the number) could be better spent elsewhere.

Again, wouldn't say 'no' to his return but I don't think I am as keen or it is as high a priority in my mind than others.
