A bit like the days before electronic, instant media when I formed images of radio personalities and was frequently disappointed when I eventually saw them in photographs. On the topic of this thread, regardless of their views and opinions, I thought Sunak behaved disgustingly last night. He constantly shouted Truss down and his advisors had clearly told him to do everything possible to avoid her getting her points across. Certainly wasn't a balanced debate. He might think it showed his forceful, dominant personality. It reinforced my view that he is a bullying slimeball.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

Maybe, although I tend not to form images of HOL members w***ing off over politicians.

Not only did he behave as in all of the above, but in a very condescending manner too! Mind you, she didn't impress that much either when she did get a word in edgeways...

A TV debate for an estimated audience of 160,000 Tory voters.!Would be similar with Labour. Begs the question whether we have a constitutional issue when a PM leaves mid term.

When they stood facing the camera at the beginning they looked so wooden for a moment I thought I was watching Thunderbirds. I am surprised people were surprised by Sunak's conduct. He is clarendon school educated she is comp. It's conditioned in them to behave that way to street oiks.

You don't win a debate to an intellectual audience, by shouting down your adversary's views. Shown Sunak to be a bit of a c-vnt who doesn't listen to those close to him.

Edited by Stirlingsays (26 Jul 2022 3.15pm) All valid points, Stirling, although my 'self-supporting' comment was intended as a joke...a play on the word 'truss'.

This all just demonstrates what the wise already knew. Johnson was the best leader the Tories could have, despite his limitations. Sadly this won't mean an end to self harm of our Northern European culture.
