We're being linked to more Brazilians who may or may not ever play. Just not what we need at present.

What we really need is someone to turn up with proper deep pockets to finance our future. We thought we had it with these American guys, but they have evidently dipped out, and Textor seems to have a dream of almost running his clubs. And look where that has got him.

He came round to my house asking me to switch broadband providers. I told him to do one. Then he did me a deal on some hotel pillows and some kitchen knives that he had in the back of his van.

A juicy bit of gossip concerning Everton & Textor . . . [Link] For me, our ownership is a major worry. Why always us? We need just one rich owner - not whatever we have these days. I don't see how Textor is going to pay for Everton with a new ground. It's surely maybe 700mil to a billion. Whereas I can't see his shares in us being worth anymore than 150-200 mil. These are just figures off the top of my head so not exactly scientific. I would think he'd have to sell the French club too. Or debt them and us up to the hilt. This could well be a Textor ruse to put the wind up the other owners.

Sounds like your worry is for Textor not us. Our other two USA holders are evidently far wealthier than Textor, who is a bit of a dark horse when it comes to net asset value. If he is trying to sell 45% of Palace (which is what he owns) as a private company, without any controlling rights (if that is the case) his shares will have a minimal value. If he can persuade the other two to sell, e.g. selling full control of the club, then they will get market value.

Obviously the current value of the squad vastly exceeds £200m If you look at the figures being banded around then it's closer to £500m

Have never trusted him. Not quite sure how he has amassed so many footballing assets considering that he doesn't seem to actually have a particularly high net worth. Can only assume it's all borrowed or bought through other people's money. I know we all get frustrated with the lack of investment at times but at least we all know Parish has our best interests at heart. Ideally all the American owners would f*** off and we could have a single rich owner who would be happy to let SP continue running it on a day to day basis.
We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold... |
